FALL YOUTH PROGRAMS

Don't miss out on the fall programs that will include:

SUPER SPORTS:

The YMCA Youth Super Sports Soccer and Basketball programs gives everyone the opportunity to play and learn through athletic endeavors that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.  Components to this program:

-Jersey, Shorts, and Socks Included

-Trained Coaches

-Games Approach to Teaching Skills

-End of Season Tournament

-Game Played every week-10 Week Session

ALL NIGHT LOCK-IN:

Parents enjoy a night out!  Children in K through 6th grade get to spend all night having fun with YMCA trained staff.  Children are provided dinner at drop-off, access to the pool with fun slide, participate in sports or craft activities, and end the night with movie and popcorn.  In the morning, breakfast is served before departure. First lock-in is September 23, 2011 and one each month after that!  Times:  6:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

PRESCHOOL SCIENCE:

This class engages your preschooler's natural curiosity and makes connections between science and other curriculum areas, including language and literacy. This is a very hands-on exploration with different themes each week.

MUNCHKIN COOKING AND KIDS IN THE KITCHEN:

Preschool and Youth classes are offered.  In this 8-session class, participants create a cookbook, learn about basic utensils, appliances, recipes, and food products while preparing a dish for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

KARATE:

Learn Martial Arts philosophies with such virtues as self confidence, motivation, discipline and restraint from our professional black belt instructor.  This program is designed for children to progress through the program.

YMCA FENCING:

Learn actual fencing at the YMCA with trained fencing instructors. All materials included!

GYMNASTICS AND BALLET:

Children learn basic skills with an emphasis on building personal confidence.  This program lays the foundation for future progressive classes.

PLAY TIME

At the Y, "play time" can de-stress,

bring families closer together, or

play here campaign

fulfill the need for challenge and

camaraderie. The ability to "play" seems to get lost as we age and

mature, but is vital to our health and well-being.

Invite your friends to play at the Y. If they join September 6-27, we'll waive their joining fee; families save $100!

EASIER PROGRAM SEARCH COMING

In an effort to make it easier for our members to find and register for programs we are making some updates to our online program search.

Beginning September 7th a new program search bar will replace the program list you may be familiar with. You'll simply type the name of the program or a program keyword and a list of options will appear. It's that easy! Nothing has changed in the actual program registration process, only the program search will be updated.

To view a short video click here.

We hope this makes it easier and faster to find the programs you are looking for.

JOURNEY TO FREEDOM

Journey to freedomJourney to Freedom is an 8-week Christ-centered small group study designed to help you make a change in your life. A failure to lay a proper foundation for change is the number one reason people don't succeed in transforming their life. Journey to Freedom will help you build this critical foundation by providing tools, support and motivation you need to achieve significant and lasting change.

Guided by Journey to Freedom's trained facilitators, you'll learn:
·         What is needed to make real change, and why your

          other attempts have failed.
·         How to lay the foundation to solve any problem and

          achieve any goal.
·         How to silence your inner critic and find your true

          purpose.
·         The difference between intrinsic and extrinsic

          motivation.

"I never realized how many people there were that shared the same issues. It's so freeing to be with others and share our experiences."

-Audrey

Classes begin the week of September 12, 2011. Please contact the Welcome Center desk or Lisa Weinreich at
Lisa.Weinreich@peninsulaymca. for more details.
