Dori Dewberry |
Sand & Rock
|
Dori Dewberry knew art would be her calling since she was a high school student at Art Center School of Design. She worked as a commercial designer for 10 years until she had her first child. As a stay at home mom Dori began studying and exploring new mediums through classes at Santiago and Santa Ana Colleges. She fell in love with pastel. Dori works in a painterly impressionistic style, preferably from life. Painting plein air allows her to see light and color as it happens. She loves the challenges of nature and its powerful beauty. Dori took 3rd place in our "USPA Annual Exhibition and Sale." She is continually studying the art of painting with masters such as Sally Strand, Kamillia Hardy, Tom Brown, Randall Sexton & Greg LaRock. Meet Dori at the Concert Series June 16th & July 21st. Julie Hill |
Morning Light, Los Angeles
|
Julie Hill's watercolor work is uniquely her own. She starts with black and white photos from which she makes detailed drawings. She then applies washes of color, loose and outside the lines. Subsequent layers of color reveal shape and detail. By using black and white photos she remains unbiased to color choices while staying true to values and shapes. In Julie's former life, she was a scientist. As a primarily self taught artist, she expresses a deep passion and joy in her painting. She likes to think of herself as "Capturing Life with Brushstrokes." Julie's paintings have been published in several international publications and she has participated in numerous juried competitions including the prestigious Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition. Meet Julie at the Concert Series June 16th & July 21st. Ian Paul

Anthony Salvo at the LPAPA fundraiser for the Tustin Schools Foundation. Yes, he does wonderful loose plein air work. Yes, we do have some at the gallery. Yes, we do have other artists that do plein air. No, we have nobody else serving us dessert!
Anthony's art career has spanned more than 35 years, drawing and painting at an early age. He recieved a BFA in Graphic Design and Packaging from Art Center College of Design.
Inspired by his mother who baked amazing apple pie for the family, Anthony set out to paint every delicious morsel he could sink his teeth into. We are getting wonderful comments on his work & enjoy dreaming about what we cannot eat.
