We love it when Karen travels because she always discovers new artistic treasures! She turned her trip to the South into an art adventure finding a Fiber artist from Savannah, GA... an Urban painter from Murfreesboro, TN... a Jazz artist from Savannah, GA... and a Jewelry designer from Asheville, NC. |
Through the Mist by Jeff Jamison |
Urban Scenes Jeff Jamison Murfreesboro, TN
Karen stopped breathlessly in her tracks when she saw the work of Jeff Jamison. Before she came home she was already on a mission to bring this Tennesee painter to Southern California!
Jeff's paintings draw the viewer in with familiar subjects presented in a fresh intriguing style. Jeff learned the value of good drawing and arresting compositions while working as an editorial illustrator right out of art school. Later, he studied the works of the masters, such as Sargent, Sorolla and Velazquez, with great admiration.
We only have two paintings right now, but hope to have more in the future.

Piano Man, Jazz Trumpet, and Blonde Blues Singer by John Mitchell |
Southern Jazz John Mitchell Savannah, GA
John Mitchell's first selection of jazz paintings were so well received that most of them were snatched up right away! But don't worry, new ones just arrived. We think you'll find his mixed media works bursting with the charm and energy of the South. John studied art in his native North Carolina and received degrees from North Carolina Central University and Penland School of Arts and Crafts. He lived and worked in the the Bahamas and Germany before earning a Masters in Fine Arts in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was during his graduate studies that John's focus shifted toward the theme of shotgun houses and jazz. |
Body Architecture Suzanne Q. EvonAsheville, NC Karen stumbled upon Q. at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston. What a blast! Q was the only jewelry artist that she liked from that festival. Q. attended Parsons School of Design where she discovered that her greatest skill was wax carving. In 1992 Q Evon Design was born. Q's current line of work incorporates a variety of techniques creating rich textures in gold and silver. She strives for a timeless quality in her designs reflecting her love for medieval metalwork and architecture. Each piece is as unique as the individual who chooses to wear them. "I love how the perfect piece of jewelry makes someone feel. When their eyes light up, it's magnificent!" - Suzanne Q. Evon
Sorry, we don't have more pictures of jewelry, they take too long to edit.

Karen is off to San Francisco and Utah for business and rejuvenation. We can't wait to see what she discovers on this trip! On her last trip to Utah she found our popular fused glass artist, Leona Hawks. |
