 Happy Donor Appreciation Month!

Ei Alfa

Spring is finally here bringing many new and exciting changes at Rising Tide Capital. This month, we welcomed Michael Caslin, a leader in the world of entrepreneurship and business development to our team. In the few weeks that he's been working with us, it's already clear that his experience and passion for entrepreneurship will be instrumental as we expand and deepen our programming.

This month, we launched two initiatives to directly benefit Rising Tide Entrepreneurs. We unveiled the beta version of the Rising Tide Exchange, an online platform for Rising Tide Entrepreneurs to connect with you and one another. Please visit the Exchange and share your thoughts on how we can make it as user-friendly and high-impact as possible. We have also forged a successful partnership with the Creative Grove Artist Market to create a Rising Tide Zone outside one of the busiest train stations in Jersey City.

These initiatives would not be possible without the support of our incredible friends and supporters who share our commitment to RTC's mission. That's why we declared March "Donor Appreciation Month". You may have already received an email or phone call from a member of our team, but just in case you missed us, I wanted to share this video we created to thank you for sharing the vision of rebuilding our communities through the power of entrepreneurship.

Sincerely,

Alfa Demmellash

20 years.

Rising Tide Capital, a nonprofit organization that has supported the start and growth of hundreds of small businesses in Northern New Jersey, recently hired Michael Caslin as the Managing Director of Strategy and Development.

Recognized nationally as a leader in social enterprise and business venture development, Caslin will lead a replication strategy to expand the nonprofit's services to other communities in need.

"Rising Tide Capital's mission aligns with my faith in the power of entrepreneurship to transform communities. No single politician or major corporation can save communities of need. Only entrepreneurs from the communities themselves- who support their families and create jobs- can do that," said Caslin who joined Rising Tide Capital in February.

Partnership with Creative Grove Opens Opportunities for Rising Tide Entrepreneurs

Left to Right: Stacey Hyatt-Dixon, Yolanda Winters and Angela Huggins participated in the pilot Rising Tide Zone.
Once a month, a section of the outdoor Creative Grove Artist Market dubbed the "Rising Tide Zone" will be exclusively designated for Rising Tide Entrepreneurs. In March, Rising Tide Capital launched an innovative partnership with the market organizers to give Rising Tide entrepreneurs opportunities to market their  products and services at the hub of downtown Jersey City, the Grove Street PATH Plaza.

"With such a high traffic area as the Grove Street PATH Plaza, this Zone will give our entrepreneurs a great opportunity to not only meet customers, but also potential partners," said Mary Sansait, program coordinator for the Community Business Academy and the lead organizer behind the Rising Tide Zone. Read more
