Please accept my invitation to attend the first Tourism Task Force meeting of 2010!
We will be planning our strategies for this year and visioning for the future.
Come prepared to imagine what Salinas & Valley Tourism will look like this year, in the decade ahead, and ways to make these things happen. I know everyone's time is valuable, so we'll be prompt and get right to work.

Tourism Task Force Summary 12.10.09
We identified several areas to focus on in the upcoming year, and will complete the planning process at the January meeting Note: to include garage parking for the Salinas Tours, add $4 per package.
Results of our December focus groups:
- Media: Earned Media AAA/Online Publications, Article in Chamber Journal/website, more ideas?

Tourism & Promotion: Plan community event, Private Trains, Senior
Groups, Market Packages, Newsletter, Bay Area, Improve Ag Tours,
CD-directed Tour
- Funding: Grants - Michelle will research
- Communication: Ongoing updating of Salinas Websites - (Trish and Cathy)
- Educational Outreach: General Public, Teens, Oldtown Ambassadors, John Steinbeck Street (Cathy)
We will work on the Green topics at the January 12 meeting at the MCCVB in Monterey.
Thank you for inviting me to continue as the group leader. I am honored to serve as the TTF Chair again for 2010, and greatly appreciate your support - it's what made 2009 so productive! I'll need your help and support to have another great year in 2010 and I know I can count on you - thanks!

Things we all can do to improve Salinas Tourism:- Adopt a website to monitor for TTF Internet Initiative: Post on Wikkipedia, Travelocity, TripAdvisor, etc.
- Download our List of Links to give out to happy visitors - encourage them to post experiences!
Print, cut, and hand out these cards to your guests and visitors.
- Share your Secrets: Travel Tips. What do you know as an insider that could be shared with our guests?
Back roads bike trail? Undiscovered restaurant? Favorite thrift
store? Anything, no matter how unusual will do! Send me an e-mail
with your Salinas Secrets and we'll use it as part of our insider
internet campaign.
