A Message from Our President..... |
White Christmas, our upcoming holiday season production, is off to a great start. OK, I'm a little prejudiced on the subject: It will be the last production during my term as Music Guild President, and I'm assisting director Mike Schmidt with the show. But I'm not exaggerating at all when I promise you White Christmas will be a great production. The cast includes Guild veteran performers Kevin Pieper and Mike Millar (Bing and Danny
for those who remember the movie version), "sisters" Jen Sondgeroth and Steph Perry, and a whole host of other highly talented actors, singers, and dancers. Combine their talents with those of music director Deb Swift, choreographer Martha Taylor, and costumer Deb Holmes and you have a recipe for a show guaranteed to send audiences home humming such favorites as "Sisters", "I Love a Piano" and "Happy Holidays", not to mention the title song.
Ticket sales are brisk, so don't delay ordering your tickets today. Call 762-6610 or email boxoffice@qcmusicguild.com. Our box office staff is in between-the-shows mode, so it may take a couple of days for you to hear from them. But you'll want to get your order in the hopper while you still have a great choice of seats. You'll be glad you did. White Christmas curtains will be at 7:30 p.m. on December 2, 3 and 4, and at 2 p.m. on December 5.
While I'm busy selling tickets, let me add that now also is the best time to place your 2011 season ticket order. Our "ultimate" season ticket gets you all five 2011 shows for the price of just four shows. Next season already is drawing good audience response. It includes Shout in the Spring, Cinderella in June, Drowsy Chaperone in July, Music Man in August and Scrooge in December 2011. We've held the line on ticket prices, so you can buy single adult tickets for $15, or get all five shows for just $60 with the "ultimate" season ticket. That's about half of what you'd pay for a single show in Chicago. And you get top-quality musical theater without the long drive, expensive parking, or big city traffic. Order your tickets today. When showtime arrives, park at SouthPark Mall and ride our free shuttle to the warm comfort of our theater and back to your car.
Incidentally, the Guild board approved four directors for our 2011 season earlier this month. They are: Tom Vaccaro for Shout, Bill Marsoun for Cinderella, Bob Williams for Drowsy Chaperone, and Harold Truitt for Music Man" Please join me in applauding these excellent directors. (The Director for the 2011 holiday season show will be selected next summer.)
See you at White Christmas.
Sincerely, Jerry Taylor |
