BIGGEST
SALE
OF THE
YEAR

Our Thanksgiving Sale was just a "warm up" for this one...a winter version of our popular Tent Sale!

Beginning December 28 and continuing until January 9 we will be holding our biggest sale of the year.  It is that time again, inventory time, that is.  Uncle Sam will tax every inch of fabric in the shop.  We'd rather YOU get the $$, so we will be marking down HUNDREDS of bolts of fabric to only $4 per yard, minimum 1 yard cuts.  This price doesn't only apply to our sale wall, it includes all the fabric on the shelves in our classroom PLUS we will be loading up our classroom tables with tons of bolts.  We are serious about this sale!

In addition, all regular prices books, patterns, and notions will be 20% off.

As before, to be admitted to the sale you must bring a donation for the food pantry, either a nonperishable item or a cash donations.

Please Note:  Although we are normally closed on Mondays through the winter months, we will be open on Monday, December 28, and again one January 4.

New Shop Phone Number
Our wholesale pattern business office and shipping department has moved to a new location in Bigfork.  This will not impact the quilt shop in any major way, but there is one rub.....  We had to get a new shop phone number.  The phone company simply is not able to have our original number ring in both locations.  So effective December 15, our new shop phone number is 406-420-1003.  If you have questions about our hours, shop fabrics and other products, or classes, you will want to call the shop phone number.  The original number will still be used to place orders, either retail or wholesale, or to check on orders already placed.  If you have questions about our patterns, you can find help from Jane or Karri at the shop, or Katie at the office.

Don't spend too much time worrying about which number to call....we will try to help you no matter which number you call!
CLASS SCHEDULE

Fireside Stitchers                  Tuesdays                      10 am to 1 pm

Bring a hand project and join Jane every Tuesday morning for coffee, pastries, and conversation.  Whether it be English paper piecing, wool appliqué, needlepunch, hand embroidery, hand quilting, binding, or even knitting, Jane will share her experience and expertise with you to get you through any trouble spots you may have, or get you started with something new.  Enjoy the camaraderie of this group, and your project will be done in no time!

Open Sew                     Thursdays                    10 am to 4 pm

We make sure our classroom is available every Thursday for open sewing.  Come join in and whittle away at your current project while sharing in the company of like-minded quilters!  It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you are away from your own telephones, kitchens, laundry rooms, etc.  Plus, it's just plain fun!

Bigfork Bay Appliqué Club              2nd Saturdays   10 am to 1 pm

On January 9th, Bigfork Bay will begin our new appliqué club.  This year's project will be from the book "Hop To It" by Edita Sitar.  Both hand and machine techniques will be shared and discussed.  Karri's sample will be created with machine techniques, and Jane's project will be done by hand.  To begin the project, purchase the shop kit, which includes the book and fabrics for all 12 blocks.  At the end of the project you will purchase border fabrics, however your border focus fabric will be included for free!  On the second Saturday of the month come in for show and tell and for exact fabrics used.  Work on your blocks with help from Karri and Jane.  In addition, each month we will share an additional appliqué pattern with you!  There just may be a special little bonus for those who come each month with their block completed!

Hop To It

Art Workshop                             4th  Wednesdays   10 am to 3 pm

Introduction to Fusible Web

January 23   10 am to 1 pm

Instructor:    Karri

Fee:    $5/$15

This techniques class will cover everything you need to know about fusible web.  What are the differences between brands and how to trace, cut, and iron pattern pieces.  Yes, the technique is simple, but there are tricks to the technique that will ensure success with your finished project.  This class is a prerequisite for all of our classes on Bigfork Bay patterns.  This is a new policy for us.  We have implemented this policy because we are committed to your success, whether it be in creating a Toni Whitney wildlife pattern, a beautiful Brenda Yirsa flower, or a whimsical Debbie Hubbs' blackbird pattern.  This class will lay the necessary groundwork for any future fusible appliqué pattern.  The $5 class fee is for those who enroll in another of our appliqué classes.  If you'd just like to come and learn the technique without committing to another class, the fee will be $15.

February 27  (part 2 is on March 6)  10 am to 3 pm

Instructor:   Clara Clark

Fee:   $60

One fabric + one shape + creative cutting and piecing equals one amazing, unique quilt!  The design possibilities are endless as you create hexagon/kaleidoscope blocks.  The great thing is that this quilt is pieced in rows, so although you are laying out the hexagons, the actual piecing is much simpler.  Clara will also teach you the techniques involved with incorporating tumbling blocks into your quilt.

Fee:  $50  (includes pattern, kit, and Cotton Theory supplies)

This class is your stepping stone to all other Cotton Theory classes.  We have made some changes to our original format for this class.  We will offer the Courthouse Combo-style candle mat.  This will incorporate a few more seams to get you comfortable with this technique.  Included in the class fee will be the Courthouse Combo pattern, which you can later use to create a larger tablerunner or quilt.  You will also receive a precut fabric kit.  This is especially important because cutting techniques are different for Cotton Theory.  These techniques will be discussed, but you won't lose valuable class time cutting.
