Greetings!
After one last miniblast of winter, I think spring may finally be coming! We are as busy as ever in the shop.
Mo has been to Seattle where she taught two sessions of the Back Porch Throw. Her beautiful sample in green and gold orientals is on display in the shop. In preparation for the class, she cut several different kits, each one more beautiful than the next. Check out the April schedule for dates that she will be teaching it here.
Jane and Traci have just returned from Puyallup where they worked with Veronica Cox of Bear Thread Designs. (Veronica's company manufactures the applique pressing sheet.) Jane has some new "premarket" ideas for the shop.
And we continue our preparations for spring Quilt Market in Portland. We will have at least thirteen new patterns, including Toni's Winter Wolf, an Italian series by Debi Hubbs, five adorable wildlife patterns featuring a new Montana artist, Ty Livingston, a Jack Russell Terrier by Pugcasso artist David King, a cat and a sheep by another new artist, Lori Faye Bock, and a new design by our own Katie Bramante called "Heavenly Sheep". You'll want this one for the next little one to bless your life! We are also developing pieced patterns, now, for those who are looking for a more traditional style. These new quilts are headed to the photographer's studio this week. Then they will hang in the shop until market in May. Stop in soon to see them!

| News About Ricky Tims |
|
We have two bits of news about Ricky Tims:
CHECK THIS OUT!!
Ricky Tims will be featured on the program Sunday Morning, this Sunday, March 16. If you have Dish Network, it airs in our area at 7 am on Sundays on CBS. Please check out your service if you have a different provider. If you are unfamiliar with this program, it is a news and entertainment program. Each show features a segment on an artist; sometimes a photographer, scutptor, painter, or musician; you get the idea! I'm such a big fan of this show that I record it every week in case I oversleep! Well, while we were at dinner with Ricky at fall market, he mentioned that he was going to be featured on this show. We weren't sure of the air date until this week. It's great for Ricky, but it's also great for quilting, which is finally being recognized as a fine art. I'm sure they will also feature his music. He's an amazing talent.
We are now carrying Ricky's hand-dyed fabrics in the shop. These are the same fabrics he uses to create his award-winning quilts. Stop in soon and let us know what you think of them! (We think they're wonderful....) |

| Ladies Monday Night Out Piecing and Quilting
Last month I mentioned that we would be starting up a Monday sewing group. We would like to welcome all who are interested to come and join us. So far those who have come have been interested in daytime sewing, but we also welcome those who work during the day and want to sew in the evening. Give us a call if you are interested! |
| Longarm Guild |
|
|
This newly formed longarm guild is open to all those who have an interest in longarm quilting. It meets on the second Sunday of the month at 1pm in the BBCC classroom. The next meeting is scheduled for April 13th. (The May meeting falls on Mother's Day, so we will discuss an alternate date at the April meeting.)

| Two Ways You Can Help
In support of Team Baboobala, a group of five, near and dear to our hearts, who are participating in the 3 day walk to fight breast cancer, we are offering 20% off coupons to those who donate $5 to support the team. You only need to spend $25 to recapture your $5 donation....anything above that is bonus to you! Please help!
Also, we are hard at work making aprons to sell, with all sales $$ going to the team. The shop is donating all fabric and staff and friends are donating all labor. Aprons will cost $25, with the entire amount going to the team. We will also offer children's aprons for $20. There will be some cute mother/daughter sets also. They will make great Mother's Day gifts, as well as birthday or shower presents. If you add up the cost of the pattern and fabric needed to make the aprons, you will spend the same amount of money, but all the work has been done for you!
We are very grateful to Barb Brunson of Vanilla House Designs for allowing us to make so many aprons to sell from her wonderful pattern. If you get a chance, check out her pattern line. She has many cute designs.

| APRIL CLASS SCHEDULE |
|
| Due to Shop Hop (April 18 through May 10) we have a lighter than normal class schedule. But we are always willing to add a class. If you and a couple of friends have been wanting to learn a technique, or take a certain class, let us know. For most classes, we only need three people!
Part One
Saturday April 5 10-4
Teacher: Mo Harrah
$150 (Three full day sessions)
(Pattern required)
This 61" X 65" throw contains center blocks that can showcase a beautiful focus fabric or beautiful quilting and has pieced border blocks. Come in and see Mo's gorgeous sample in green and gold oriental fabric. We have several kits precut for this class, or you may choose your own fabrics. Part two will be held May 10th, and part three will be held May 31st. There will be homework for you to do in between class sessions.
INTRODUCTION TO COTTON THEORY
Tuesday April 8 1-5
Teacher: Mo Harrah
$65 (includes teaching fee, book and kit)
This class is a prerequisite for all other Cotton Theory classes. Mo will teach you the basics of cutting, quilting, piecing, and binding Cotton Theory quilts. You will leave this class with a completed candlemat, binding and all!
FOUR AND TWENTY
Saturday April 12 10-4
Teacher: Lynn Stalowy
$35 (pattern required)
This Irish Chain version works well with many different fabrics! Choose a focus fabric, a companion fabric, and you're on your way! We have kits in the shop for this version made up with Debi Hubb's Blackbird Jubilee fabric, and another with rich florals. Or we'll be happy to help you choose your own. This is a perfect class for confident beginners who want to move to the next level. Learn how to match up stripes perfectly when you miter a border print.
SPRING STORM
Thursday April 17 10-4
Teacher: OK Carol Rockwell
$30 (pattern required)
Learn OK Carol's techniques to successfully create your own version of Spring Storm. This is not a beginning fusible applique class. You must have prior experience with this method. You will be expected to come to class with all your pieces traced and, if you're comfortable with it, fused to fabric. Then you will cut and assemble your quilt top under OK Carol's expert guidance.
