Safe-SLO Nonprofit High Quality Safety and Empowerment Programs

Dear Friends

Many people think the word "non-profit" means "free services." This may be true for some nonprofits that receive government or private grants, but not all 501(c)(3) nonprofits are funded this way.

At Aikido of San Luis Obispo, we rely on three resources to operate our programs and wonderful facility. They are: (1) dedicated volunteerism from instructors and staff (2) program tuitions from students, and (3) charitable donations. Our year-end fund drive to raise $10.000 has just begun! Through boardSafe-SLO, a small, entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, we are able to receive tax-deductible charitable donations.

I know that you value the presence of our Aikido programs and unique training center in this community, and I am asking you to participate in our year-end fund drive. If you are unable to make a donation, I ask if you will volunteer one hour of time to share your enthusiasm for our mission with a family member, friend,  colleague, or business owner who is able to make year-end contributions to worthy recipients. Having donated 40 volunteer hours weekly this year to our programs, I can personally say Safe-SLO/AIkido is a worthy recipient.

It truly takes our whole community to keep our services available from year to year. Your contribution--or your donation of an hour of your time to seek other contributors), will make the difference that allows us to offer the same programs in our wonderful training center in 2011.
