Women and the Second Half of Life : OPENING THE GATES OF WISDOM

The second half of life
is the ultimate initiation. In it, we encounter new, unexpected,
unfamiliar, and unknowable moments that remind us that
we are a sacred mystery made
manifest. (Angeles Arrien)
MARCH 7-28
4 SUNDAYS 5-6:30pm
Any woman who wants to explore the 2nd half of life as a sacred,
powerful process may participate in this workshop. The workshop examines ways
to master the lessons and gifts of four of the "Gates of Initiation for the Second Half of Life" identified by cultural
anthropologist Angeles Arrien. Arrien notes that women can enhance meaning, purpose, and
spiritual
maturity in their lives by mastering the Gates' lessons and gifts. Each session
will focus on one Gate of Wisdom. We will explore Gates 1 & 2 and
then select 2 more based on our group's wishes. We will use stories, images,
poetry, metaphors, & group sharing in a safe, non-judgmental,
empowering, soulful
environment. Participants
may
use Arrien's book "The Second Half of Life" or our class handouts. Facilitated by Mary Tesoro & Kathy Lamoree. Limited to 12 women. $35 donation
requested / Sponsored by Safe-SLO Nonprofit / Registration
closes March 5. Click here to request flyer and application.
May we be the ones to reclaim & model the dignity, grace & authentic power true Elderhood confers (Angeles Arrien)
