Dear Friends
Listed below are the wonderful people, organizations, and businesses whose combined generosity made our '08 year-end fund drive goal of $10,000 a reality. It is entirely because of their contributions that our Aikido classes continued into 2009. Please take a moment to understand what this means, and feel the deep appreciation that arises in your heart. Mary Tesoro

WHY is our Year-End Fundraiser SO Important to Aikido programs? Many
people think the word "non-profit" implies "free services". This may
be true for some nonprofits that receive government funds or private
grants, but not all 501(c)(3) nonprofits are funded this way. For
Aikido of San Luis Obispo, it truly takes a whole community to keep the
dojo open from year to year.
Safe-SLO, which sponsors Aikido of
San Luis Obispo, is a small volunteer-based Nonprofit. Aikido programs are funded by a combination of student tuitions,
dedicated volunteerism, and charitable contributions. The difference
each year between dollars raised through tuitions and the actual cost
of providing Aikido programs at our wonderful large facility is
about $10,000. This is the amount we must raise to remain in
operation.
Every year, ALL who value the presence of Aikido of San Luis Obispo in our community are invited to participate in this fund drive. Those unable to make a personal donation volunteer an hour
to share their enthusiasm for our mission with a
local business owner, a family member, or a friend who might make a tax-deductible donation to a worthy recipient.
The contributions to the annual fund drive--added to the 1,200-plus volunteer hours donated by our dojo leaders, teachers, and Safe-SLO's Directors--make the IMPORTANT difference that allows Aikido of SLO to continue providing its services each year.
Can contributions be made before year-end ? Yes! You can donate to our '09 fundraiser anytime this year. To Make a Secure Donation Online Right Now Using a Credit Card or PayPal account click here: Donation Link For Mail-in
