Decorating Tips

embellished book
Do you have books ready for a garage sale? Don't sell them. Embellish them. Just spray paint the binder your favorite color, wrap about 3/4 of the outside with craft paper and finish by hotgluing ribbon and flowers over the edge.

Sadly, even though I am a writer, most of the books in my house are for show.

Hey Friend,
Christy Johnson

eing still is not one of my better qualities. Hard for hyperactive folks, tough for those that are challenged with patience and foreign to those of us who want it yesterday, but as Christians, it's a quality we need to embrace.

Besides, there is a promise in being still. It's in the being still that we get to know God.

I hope that as you
read today's E-votional, The Benefits of Caffeine, you will be encouraged to be still and know that He is God. And don't forget to post your comments! I love reading what you have to say.

He never fails!

When I smelled the coffee brewing, I knew John was already up. As I wandered sleepily into the kitchen, my morning-is-my-favorite-part-of-the-day husband beamed as he thrust a package in my face.

"Here, Honey, I bought you a little something."

"Nice gift wrap," I teased as I looked at the attractive plastic bag embellished with a green Dollar Tree logo. "Thanks, Babe. I can't wait to see what it is."

"I think you'll really like it. You said that gifts don't have to be expensive. It's the thought that counts, right?"

"That's what I said. It's the dollar, I mean, the thought that counts."

John knew that one of my love languages is gift giving and he was trying really hard to show the love, but when I opened the bag, I gasped.
