September 2011

Dear American Clay Community,

With the beginning of September which is bringing some cooling nights to our long, hot summer, I want to let each of you know that I am ready to leave American Clay as the 'Chief Vision Officer' and move on to another adventure.

This journey, which Croft and I began in mid 1999, has been  a gift from Mother Earth!

Needless to say the choice to depart American Clay brings mixed emotions for me. During all of these years I have had the blessing of spending creative, hardworking and even playful hours with so many of you. That time together has been a  privilege and has brought me a new meaning to the word--friendship. I can never thank you enough for how so many of you welcomed me into your homes, your businesses and your hearts. It truly has changed my life.

We have always considered each person who has had the courage to open their businesses, their homes and their visions to the possibilities of American Clay plasters a true pioneers. But remember, the adventure is just beginning in many ways. Our amazing staff is always looking for new possibilities for the product's scope.

I know that I leave the wonderful work that we started together in the remarkably capable hands of our leader--Croft Elsaesser.  He has been a patient son, tolerating a nudgy mom!

To each of you--Thanks for the memories...and be forewarned: I still might show up on your doorsteps at a moments notice...

With much love,

Carol Baumgartel
