Dear American Clay Community,

Earth Day came and went so quickly at American Clay, but it was a day of excitement and renewal. We held a training about the benefits of American Clay and how it changes the way people view the finishes going on their walls. It was an opportunity to stress that with this product we are changing the way people think about what products are used in their homes. This includes what people use when they build their house or office through to what they use to clean their homes. When people use American Clay they have an opportunity to bring the natural world into their lives and make a difference in how they not only view their homes, but also how they view the planet!
I hope you enjoyed our annual Earth Day Challenge on our website, and congratulations to Sophia D. Lee for finding all of the Earth symbols.
Enjoy your month and continue to spread the Mud!

Lets Talk About Workshops
Well, Spring has definitely sprung in Albuquerque!! The pollen in flying, and the wind is blowing. Soon it will be hot and we are going to want it to be cooler!
We are going to talk a little bit about our classes this month. The classes we hold here at our facility are really educational and informative. Our Basic class gives a handy homeowner enough hands on training to do a project. I would remind people to take the class as close to the project as possible. The cost of this class is $150, and includes a light breakfast, coffee, and soft drinks.

Techniques to Compress Corners
The most common thing that we see with corners is that they are not completely compressed. We compress our corners with a margarine/yogurt lid that has the rib around the outside cut off - fold it into the shape you need (90 degrees, or for bullnose). Moisten the corner and run the tool along it - be sure to PRESS evenly, not PULL, it is easy to scrape the clay off during this step.
