IHELP Event Planning Meeting

The next IHELP meeting will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 6:30PM at the First United Methodist Church 215 E. University Drive in Tempe.

A Season for Sharing and Caring

While a poor economic economy has impacted many non-profits financially as well as the Tempe Community, our IHELP partners continue to provide help and stability 7 days a week to IHELP participants. We at Tempe Community Action Agency feel very blessed and thankful for the expression of care all of you continue to give IHELP participants on a daily basis, not just during the Holiday Season. This program runs efficiently and smoothly because our IHELP communities provide shelter, a filling meal as well as camaraderie on a daily basis. We genuinely appreciate the generosity of our caring IHELP congregations, communities, and organizations. Your in-kind donations are priceless! We wish you a joyous holiday season and happy new year.

Holiday Cheer for IHELP Participants

Thank you to the Ramsey Social Justice Foundation for a generous donation to spread a little holiday cheer this season to our guests. Some items are still needed for the gift bags. Based on a poll of our guests, the following items would be very much appreciated:

Food Gift Cards

Movie Passes or Gift Cards

Good Quality Razors

Blankets

Thank you for making this holiday season a warm and merry place for IHELP participants. The caring spirit our Host Sites and Meal Providers convey encourage our participants in ways you may never fully know.

Working Poor Tax Credit Due Dec. 31

Did you know that TCAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency and qualifies for the Working Poor Tax Credit? Donating to the Working Poor Tax Credit (like the school tax credit) you will receive dollar for dollar back on your state income tax. You can also give to TCAA and still give to the school tax credits in the same year. AND, better yet you can designate the funds to go to IHELP. Individuals can donate $200 and couples can donate up to $400. For more information contact Stephen at 480-350-5893. This donation is a win/win situation for everyone because you get a state tax credit while you help Tempe Community Action Agency continue to help our homeless neighbors.

Water Drives Needed

We are still in need of water. If you are willing to do a water drive, please let Sam or Kathy know.

Additional IHELP NEEDS

Thanks everyone for so graciously providing for the needs of our IHELP participants. We have some ongoing needs below along with some **new ones:

**Reading glasses

**Blankets

*Coordinate a Sheet Drive - so our clients can keep up their hygiene and keep their employment.

*Wash sheets for IHELP Clients - did you know when Communities/churches don't wash their own sheets IHELP Staff wash them? The IHELP Manager, the IHELP Coordinator, or the Communications Coordinator will wash the sheets. If you are interested in helping out, please contact IHELP.
