THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Many thanks to those who have designated their tax credit to the IHELP Program.  The program couldn't exist without monetary donations and all the support we receive from volunteers.  We look forward to going into a prosperous New Year with our IHELP Partners!
Meet our New IHELP Coordinator
New to the IHELP team is Sergio Torres.  He is our new IHELP Coordinator.  If you have not had a chance to meet him, please take a moment say hello when you see him at IHELP.

 2011 IHELP Meeting

It's that time again where we come together as a group to reflect on how the IHELP Program is running and brainstorm different ideas.  Please come and share your group stories and participate in our first meeting of the year.  We value your input, so please plan on attending! The IHELP meeting will be held at Grace Community Church January 11, 2011 at 6:30PM in room A1.  Please note the time change for those of you who normally attend.  We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

 iRUN for IHELP

Bethany Community Church has started their own iRUN team to participate in the PF Chang's Rock 'N' Roll Arizona's Half Marathon to benefit Tempe Community Action Agency's Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (IHELP).  Josh Harper the Middle School Pastor at Bethany Community church started an iRUN team and has almost 15 participants now registered. Each participant is running the half marathon and all are committed to raising $100 to support the IHELP Program. Bethany iRUN teamStating that Josh Harper is a marathon enthusiast himself would be a bit of an

understatement

considering that he has completed 20+ marathons or half marathons.  Josh adheres to a strict training schedule in which he has made coming to Saturday morning team training mandatory.  The iRUN team has come up some creative ways to earn their support, they are selling t-shirts for $20.  One participant, Savannah (pictured top row, second from the left) was very excited to be out selling donuts for IHELP.  The team consists of students from Middle School and High School, as well as a few adults. Bethany is one of many faith communities that we are excited to partner with because of their strong support of the IHELP program.

 2011 IHELP CALENDAR

Thanks for getting your requests in early.  The dates for the 2011 Calendar are posted.  If you have any questions, please let Sam know as soon as possible. Thanks everyone for the dates you have committed to for the New Year.  Please remember to let us know what you were serving.  Many have requested to be able to look at the calendar and know what the IHELP guests were served in the past, so as not to duplicate meals.  We update the calendar when we are provided the information.

Mayors Run LogoThe Mayor's Run Coming Soon....
January 9th is the last day to register for "The Mayor's Run."  We are logging some serious training mileage at this point.  Half marathoners are up to 12 miles!  Yeah "Team TCAA"!
Our team needs and values your support.  If you would like to support our team by sponsoring a runner in "The Mayor's Run"/PF Chang's Rock 'N' Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon, please contact Kathy Estrada.  Your sponsorship is very much appreciated.  Many "TEAM TCAA!" members are walking the half marathon.  If you are interested, please come join us.  If we can do it, you can too!

Come see Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman
training and encouraging his teams!
