Volunteer Opportunities Available For TCAA's Home Delivered Meals Program

*Drivers Needed
TCAA's Home Delivered Meals program (HDM) is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver lunch to our homebound seniors and disabled residents.  Delivery takes about 2 hours between 9:30 am and 11:30 am, Monday through Friday. Meals can be delivered individually, in pairs or teams, and children are welcome to assist their parents!   Drivers are needed on a daily basis, however, volunteers can drive one day a week or everyday.  A valid driver's license  and background check is required. If you are interested, please click here.  Tempe Community Action Agency relies on our Home Delivered Meals volunteers and appreciates all they do!  Thanks volunteers!
Paper Products Needed

Paper products are in short supply for some host sites.  Some sites provide weekly meals and step in whenever needed.  TCAA is very thankful to them and all of our host sites! Donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off to Tempe Community Action Agency.  Please label or specify that the donation is for I-HELP.  TCAA and our clients truly appreciate the generosity of our community!  Thank you for your consideration.
A Note About I-HELP Lunches...

Thank you for providing lunches for our clients.  Sandwiches are still considered acceptable lunches items.  However, please be aware of the heat, and how fast certain foods can spoil.
Help TCAA Hydrate Others~Donate Water Bottles

The temperatures are rising, and with that comes more heat realated illnesses.  Tempe Community Action Agency is in need of water bottles to help hydrate our clients.  Your donation will go a long way in preventing heat stroke, and other heat realated illnesses.
Client & Case Management Corner

Lindsay Johnson's name has been mentioned by several I-HELP clients in previous newsletters because she has been the Case Manager, encourager, and all around cheerleader for I-HELP clients.

Lindsay has been in social work for the last six years, and the Case Manager for I-HELP for the last year.  Her official title is Benefits/Like Skills Coordinator.  Lindsay says, "I really enjoy my job and hope to help all my clients find safe and stable housing."  Lindsay recently did a survey and found that 90% of clients feel better about their future because of I-HELP.

Here are some exciting statistics from I-HELP's fourth quarter:

19 clients have obtained employment
15 clients obtained safe and stable housing
30 clients obtained medical or food stamp benefits

Stay tuned for future updates... from our Client & Case Management Corner.
Cooking for a Crowd...

Hosting sites are often asking for new recipes.  Click here to go to the 50+ cookbook, where you will find many great recipes.  The Glazed Meatloaf is a tried and true recipe, clients loved it!  Click the link above and go to the Cooking for a Crowd to find this recipe.  Do you know of other recipes I-HELP clients have enjoyed, please email  Kathy so we can share them with other I-HELP host sites.  You can also post ideas to our Google Group. Select "join group" on the right sidebar once you log in.  Post Away!  Your participation is greatly appreciated!

Thanks to everyone for making I-HELP a success!!
