I-HELP Picnic - NEW DATE!
Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP) Holds Annual Fundraiser

The I-HELP Picnic will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010.  Last year, we raised an incredible $20,000 for I-HELP and the homeless guests that we serve on a nightly basis.  We would like to welcome the Tempe First Congregational Church as our newest host site - our goal is to have an "additional site for every night."   We are asking for your sponsorship to support the program.

I-HELP is achieving results for Tempe's homeless!  Last year, we served 273 unduplicated homeless individuals with 312 nights of safe housing.  Our volunteers and congregations served 9,360 meals with an estimated in-kind value of $178,200 of donated meals and space.  More importantly, by working with our guests, they met their goals to become self-sufficient...

*72 clients obtained vital documentation

*26 clients obtained government benefits

*71 clients obtained employment

*29 clients obtained housing

We truly appreciate your support for I-HELP.  The program is funded solely by grants and donations from the community!

You asked for it - the new IHELP Discussion Group
At the last volunteer alliance meeting, the group asked for a discussion group to be created to post recipies, ideas and the ability to share our stories!  Join today at http://groups.google.com/group/ihelp-tempe.

Select "join group" on the right sidebar once you log in. Thanks for the suggestion!  Post Away!!
Thank you to Matt Walker from Bethany for creating the new IHELP video!
Watch the video.  Please share with others.
Volunteer Alliance Meeting
I-HELP would like to invite all of our congregations and volunteers to join us for our 3rd quarter "Volunteer Alliance Meeting". Save the Date for:

May 19, 2010
 Location: TBD
Meal Dates
Good News: we are experiencing requests from new volunteer groups to serve meals!   This is a great way for new volunteers to get to know the program and we may ask some congregations who have consistent dates to allow someone else to provide the meal if possible - if this happens we will contact you directly.  Please contact us at ihelp@tempeaction.org with any questions.  Thanks!
