I-HELP Picnic - Save the Date!
Please save April 11, 2010 on your calendar for the I-HELP Picnic.  More event details will come next month.
Volunteer Opportunity
Looking for a great volunteer opportunity? I-HELP is looking for individual volunteers or groups to donate plates, forks, knives, cups, etc. to be distributed to some of our local congregations.  If interested in doing a drive or donating what you have around the house, please contact Sam Sumner for additional information.

In addition, I-HELP needs volunteers or groups to help with washing of sheets for local congregations, again please contact Sam Sumner for additional information.
Meal Dates
Good News: we are experiencing requests from new volunteer groups to serve meals!   This is a great way for new volunteers to get to know the program and we may ask some congregations who have consistant dates to allow someone else to provide the meal if possible - if this happens we will contact you directly.  Please contact us at ihelp@tempeaction.org with any questions.  Thanks!

Tempe Empty Bowls - Help Us Fight Hunger!
Friday, February 19th: 6th Street Park (just south of City Hall in Downtown Tempe), Empty Bowls 2008and Saturday, February 20th:  Community Center Courtyard, 3500 S. Rural Rd. (courtyard is nestled between Tempe Public Library and Vihel Center buildings),  SW Corner of Rural/Southern.  Both days are from 11:00 a.m. until  2:00 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public!

Hand-crafted bowls, made by potters at the City of Tempe Ceramics Program, local artists and by Tempe area high school and middle school students, will be available for a minimum donation of ten dollars.  With the purchase of a bowl, Whole Foods Market will offer a simple meal of soup and bread (symbolic of the caloric intake that must sustain many in the world for an entire day).

Friday's entertainment will include music from Walt Richardson, and Saturday from Randy Olson and Friends.

Proceeds benefit TCAA and United Food Bank.
