Greetings!
I was blessed to attend 20 births in 2009. With each birth I am reminded of so many wonderful things: the innocence of new life, the strength and courage of women, the team of people we need around us while we are going through the storm of transition, and maybe the biggest one of all: non-attachment to how your birth unfolds--TRUSTING in the journey.
With a year that brought so many personal highs and lows for me I am feeling ready for 2010... and ready for the changes, challenges and the new beginnings it will bring.
So without further ado let me share with all of you the exciting BIRTHS, re-births and changes to Blooma in 2010!
-Blooma St. Paul opening February 1st! -Adding a 2nd Studio to our Edina loction--New teachers and new classes and more options for all classes. (Please see dates we will be closed below). -We made it! Blooma is going to Uganda February 5th!
Love, Sarah Longacre

Blooma St. Paul opens February 1st, 2010!
|
That's right, Blooma is having a baby! Blooma St. Paul will soon be here and we couldn't be more excited. We are located in the Health Foundations building on Grand Avenue. We will be focusing on Prenatal Yoga, BYOB and Childbirth Education to start with, and adding more classes as the year moves along. We know that the birthing community in St. Paul is amazing, with so many wonderful OB's, Midwives, and hospitals. We are so confident that Blooma will fit right in with this great team of people that support moms in their birth experience. We look forward to watching our 2nd baby grow and blossom just like Edina has.
You can use your class pass at both locations!

2nd Studio to be added to our Edina Location!

Our Wellness room will also be closed Monday, January 11th - Monday 18th. We are adding a second studio which means more class options and more of the Blooma love to go around. We are also adding new teachers and exciting NEW workshops this year.
Thank you all in advance for your patience as we go through this exciting change.

Thank you for all of the Blooming in Uganda love! |
"My bags are packed I am ready to go"... OK well not exactly John Denver, however I am "high" on the fact that I am off to Uganda February 5th and couldn't be going without each and every dollar that all of you raised for this amazing cause. The mamas are awaiting our arrival, the bricks are ready to be stacked and the blankets we blessed are yearning to be used.
I recently received a letter from another volunteer who is already there and working hard to break ground on the birth center. Her description of the living conditions and the progress she has been able to make give me hope that we are making a HUGE difference for each of these mothers. I am also humbled by her accounts of how gracious and spirited the people are; happy to be alive despite their daily struggles.
THANK YOU ALL for the continuous support and love. I promise to blog often on my journey and bring all of the Blooma love to the mothers and their babies. "So kiss me and smile for me"....
"Birth is not only about making babies.
Birth is about making mothers ~ strong, competent,
capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength. "
