SEPTEMBER 2008
|
Greetings!
If anyone had asked me, I would've suggested that the official start of the New Year happen in September, during back-to-school season! Everything is so fresh and full of possibility ... notebooks filled with pages of potential, new clothes waiting to become old favorites, the crisp colors of fall just days away. It really is the perfect time to set resolutions for body and soul!
To help you achieve your back-to-school potential, Blooma is offering discounts on class packages in September. We're also presenting all of our childbirth education programs this month: Hypnobirthing on Thursday nights, Enlightened Mama the first two Saturdays of the month, Birthing from Within the last two Saturdays of the month, and a Prenatal Yoga Intensive for good measure.
In this season of pep rallies, homecomings, and fresh starts, we're looking forward to seeing you--again & again--at Blooma!
Be Blooma Well,
Sarah Longacre | Blooma founder

Meditation and More for Mamas & Papas
This past spring, Blooma and Lisa Bergly introduced the Swami Mommies program to rave reviews: "I absolutely loved this class," said mama Rachel G., and shortly after the course ended, Blooma mama Megan said, "Oh, how I loved this class! I am already missing it so much!" So we're thrilled to offer another session this fall--and to introduce a series of follow-up workshops exclusively for our Swami Mommies alumni! Swami Mommies: The IntroductionThis 4-week series of 2-hour classes explores how to bring yogic philosophy into your family life through the teachings of Kriya Yoga.
Each class includes philosophy, kriya technique, asana, pranayama,
mudra, mantra, and meditation. Learn how to take that next, conscious
step toward becoming a better, more-balanced mother and life partner.
(Dads are welcome, too!) Swami Mommies: The WorkshopsLoved what you learned in The Swami Mommies intro? Join us for more yogic love and wisdom about parenting and partnering in Lisa's one-afternoon follow-up workshops. We'll focus a little less on asana and a little more on lecture & discussion. (Please do take the required Intro session first!) The Details- Swami Mommies: The Introduction meets 2pm-4pm on Sundays, October 5, 12, 19 & 26. The course is $125.
- The Follow-Up Workshops meet 1:30pm-4:30pm on Sundays, November 2 and December 7. There's a different topic each month; watch the newsletter and blog for details. The workshops are $40 each or $75 when you register for both.
- For the best value, sign up for the Intro and the two follow-up workshops together for just $180.
- Sign up soon! Swami Mommies sold out when we offered it in the spring!

CHOICES IN CHILDBIRTH
|
Support & Options for Birthing Beyond Cesarean Section When it comes to birthing, you have a choice about how, where, and with whom you bring your little one into the world. But it's not always easy to know how to go about making those choices. Join us for a candid conversation about your options for birth: From changing care providers late in pregnancy to researching your options for birth after Cesarean section, we can help.
Who: Blooma founder Sarah Longacre, life & wellness coach Sarina LaMarche, and C-section mama Anne Gustin invite moms-to-be, Cesarean mamas who are wondering about their options for future births, and moms-to-be planning for a vaginal or home birth after Cesearan (VBAC/HBAC).
What: An afternoon of shared stories, candid conversation, and lots of information to help you find the right birthing path for you and your family.
When: Sunday, September 14, from 2:30pm-4:30pm.
Where: Blooma, of course!
Why: To help mamas understand the full range of choices available in childbirth. We'll cover Cesarean support, VBAC, and HBAC options. We'll share stories, spend time journaling about birth experiences and expectations, review the birthing options in the Twin Cities, and take time for a Q&A session.
Fee: Free! But please do sign up at Blooma (click "schedule" then "workshops" to register).
This afternoon session is geared toward women who have had a Cesarean birth or would like to know more about Cesarean birth (we'll review lots of facts and figures). It is intended to help women process a
prior Cesarean experience, inform women who are planning a Vaginal Birth after Cesarean
(VBAC), and raise awareness in women who are expecting their first child. Spouses, partners, and labor companions are welcome to attend.
