Greetings!
Summer is prime time for giving birth, and we're into it big time here at Blooma! I recently attended a phenomenal VBAC (vaginal birth after Cesarean) with amazing mama Dawn--that's her in the picture, in Goddess pose at a Blooma Belly Prenatal class.
In other birthy news: Blooma chiropractor Channing McKinley just gave birth to her second little blessed bean (and we'll sure miss her for the next 6 weeks!). We're filming our first-ever Blooma Belly Prenatal Yoga DVD next week, and the following weekend, we introduce the very special Belly to Belly 3-week yoga-and-discussion group for expectant mothers.
I have to tell you, Belly to Belly is the perfect treat for any mama-to-be who wants to combine her yoga practice with practical, real-life insights about pregnancy and motherhood. The added bonus? The class is taught by Emily MacLaury, who is a mama of two, a yoga teacher, and a doula. You can't get any more qualified than that! Check out the details below, then come escape the summer heat at Blooma! We can't wait to see you!
Be Blooma Well,

Mamas-to-Be: Practice, Breathe, & Be Social
We can't say enough about Belly to Belly! This is the opportunity that so many mamas-to-be tell us they are looking for: time for yoga, time to connect with other women, time to share & seek support for pregnancy and motherhood. We'll dedicate about half of each class to your yoga practice and the other half to chatting about pregnancy & parenthood topics like transformation, becoming a mother, relationships, and the connection between fear and pain. Both the discussion and the yoga practice will be led by Emily MacLaury, a warm-hearted doula, mama, and yogini. The three-week Belly to Belly workshop is Sunday evenings, 5:30pm-7pm, beginning July 6.

LET IT SHINE!

Open Your Heart: workshop with Jennifer Colletti This month, Blooma yoga instructor & way-cool mama Jennifer Colletti offers a HeartOpeners workshop that is sure to help you release tension, ease stress, and wash the weight of daily life right out of your body.
Join us for this vinyasa class based on heart-opening
techniques. We'll concentrate on opening and nurturing
the chest, heart, and throat area. Whether you're living a busy corporate life, are hunched over from toting your beloved tot, or feeling tension every time you nurse your newborn, this class is for you (hey, doesn't that cover just about all of us?!). This lovely heart-opening practice will include an extended period of savasana relaxation and time for your questions.
Join us for the workshop on Sunday, July 13! 1:30pm-3:30pm. $25.
Be sure to check out Jennifer's weekly classes, too:
About Jennifer and her yoga: Jennifer began
her personal yoga journey more than 10 years ago, as she made her way through a career as a fashion designer. Through years of extensive
travel and intensive work, she found her way back to yoga time and
again. Having been a competitive gymnast and diver, Jennifer also had
an appreciation for graceful movement--and the kind of repetitive stress
injuries common in her chosen sports. Yoga offered a solution for it
all: respite from the stress of work, relief from her injuries, and a
physical practice that soothed her body and her mind. When
Jennifer left the corporate world, she pursued two passions: yoga and design. Finally feeling in control of her destiny, she opened a boutique with a long-time friend, started the interior styling business Filigree Design, and went after her dream of many years to become a yoga teacher. She found a sense
of belonging and solace in the yoga community. She completed the
Corepower Vinyasa teacher training program in 2005; she's also studied
with Rolf Gates, Cameron Shane, Seane Corn, and Dave Farmar. She is trained in Vinyasa, Hot, Prenatal, Postnatal, Baby, and Kids yoga. In 2007, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Mommyhood, she says, couldn't be more amazing!
