(Enmore, Australia - September 2011) Solz House Shoes, an Australian company, is pleased to announce the launch of its online retail operations in the United States, at www.SolzHouseShoes.com. Solz House Shoes are an environmentally-friendly and sustainable indoor footwear product that offers extraordinary support and comfort. The U.S. launch marks the company's premiere entry into international sales.

"I was inspired by Scandanavian and Japanese furniture styles, as well as my passion for sustainable and environmentally-friendly products," says Carmel Taylor, founder and designer of Solz House Shoes. "I love the Solz design because it's beautifully simple. The shoes are about treading lightly, physically and metaphorically."
Solz are manufactured with a low carbon footprint so there is little impact on the environment. They are produced in a low-energy process, using locally sourced and recycled materials. Solz are made from Australian fabrics that are recyclable, sustainable, and biodegradable. By adding a bit of Spandex to the fabrics, Taylor has created a shoe that returns to its original shape after washing, and molds itself to your foot so it feels like a custom-tailored shoe.
Solz come in two fabrics, cotton and merino wool. Because they are natural fabrics, both are lightweight and breathable, keeping feet dry and comfortable. They are also machine-washable. While cotton is a great choice for warmer climates, Taylor recently added the merino wool for those in cooler and wetter areas.
"Solz are a comfortable, stylish way to wear something on your feet at home. They aren't as heavy or constricting as shoes, but are more supportive and comfortable than just socks," says Taylor. When she designed Solz, she envisioned them sitting upon a shoe shelf in the entryway, offering a light, comfortable way to indulge your feet when returning home. Extra pairs near the door offer a warm welcome to houseguests as well.
The materials and design of the Solz House Shoes make them a wonderful travel accessory. They pack compactly and spring back to shape when taken out of the suitcase. They're also perfect to wear on the plane during travel. "You can take off your shoes and relax, but still have something on your feet if you have to get up and walk around or use the bathroom on the plane," says Taylor.
