No doubt 2011 will be a year to remember:

A tornado tearing through Monson, Palmer and Springfield ~ Irene, giving us the opportunity to use the word Tropical and Vermont in the same sentence ~ an earthquake, a real one with pictures moving on the walls and china rattling in the cupboards ~ The big Winter-Meet-Autumn-Foliage-Black- Out ~ Occupy Wall Street  ~ The closing of Sunrise Bakery...

Yes, quite an eventful year it was!

Of course I saw a  link between all these events, which prompted me compose  my New Year Wish and Resolution List (this is the short, public, version):

Ready to occupy 2012? Let's do it wisely!

On a more personal level, 2011 was the

10th anniversary of Eastmont Custom Framing.

The year started slowly and I must admit with a certain amount of anxiety. But business increased as the year went on, to the point where I was able to re-hire Cindy and end the year with record breaking orders in November and December (THANK YOU!)

It was also the year of the first Art in the Orchard, the unassuming public art project that became a wonderful destination for thousands of people throughout the summer and fall. Who knew that apples and sculptures could be so compatible, and be enjoyed simultaneously?

Art in the Orchard was recently rewarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council with a Gold Star Award for being one of the three best LCC granted projects in the state. Many thanks to all who made this project possible and contributed to its success.

Looking forward to Art in the Orchard 2013!

2011 also saw the birth of

Quintessence Easthampton

A collaboration between KW Home, Harry King Rug & Home, Nash Gallery, White Square Fine Books & Art, and Eastmont Custom Framing. Five local businesses looking forward to the new year to use their individual skills and common assets to prove to you that 5 little boxes are much better than a big one...

Stay tuned for upcoming offers and promotions,
