Steve Walbridge
at the
Elusie Gallery Thursday December 8th - Saturday December 31st
Artist Reception Saturday December 10th, 5 - 8pm

Steve Walbridge is better known for having developed and managed, along with good friend and fellow local music enthusiast Donnie Moorhouse, the original CityBlock Music Series in Springfield for its first ten years. In 2004 he was given the "Promoter of the Year" award by the Blues Foundation. But Steve Walbridge's early interest was in visual arts (drawing and sketching). After having spent many years pursuing his other artistic passion, music - becoming heavily involved in the local and national music scene, working in radio, writing for multiple music publications and promoting concerts throughout the eastern half of the United States - Steve has now returned to his first love of visual artistic expression.
Taking classes at both Springfield Technical Community College and Westfield State, Steve has also studied with renowned artist and sculptor, Gregory Stone at the Hill Art Institute in Florence, Massachusetts. Steve continues to study oil painting under Greg Stone as well as with watercolorists Beverly Duncan, Rey Milici and Walter Cudnohufsky.
Steve works in oils, watercolors, pen & ink and graphite, and exhibits a wide range of interests and expressions: portraiture, landscapes, impressionism, and non-figurativism. |
