Hard to believe, we've been in the G.O.T.H. for over a year now! ( G.O.T.H. stands for Good Old Town Hall, I just made this acronym up but I have a feeling it doesn't have much of a future).
One year! It's long enough to be able to confirm that moving in these venerable walls was the right thing to do; it's also long enough to start feeling a bit lonely...
Well, not anymore! There has been a lot of floor refinishing and wall painting in the last few weeks in room #4, Mayor Tautznik former office, where the Easthampton Cultural Council and Easthampton City Arts are getting ready to open their shared office / meeting room / showroom / visitor center. This space will allow, among other things, Easthampton Artists and Craftspeople to showcase their work and leave information about themselves, and provide visitors to Easthampton with an address where they can find directions and information about the local Arts and Crafts , a sort of sampling of the depth and creativity of Easthampton's cultural life.
We're inviting you to check out this new (not quite ready...) space this Saturday: The ECC and ECA will be open for the now traditional Easthampton Art Walk, hosting an exhibit of paintings by Marlene Rye. While just across the hall, it will be your last chance to see "Crops & Dunes". Mark Stein's exhibition at the Elusie Gallery ends the same day.
And if that was not enough to intice you to spend some time at the old town hall Saturday, you will also be able to listen to singer - song writer Brandee Simone. For more information about any of the above, please click on the links on the left column. And see you Saturday!
