Tip of the Month
Creating PowerPoint Slides without the Mouse
Sometimes you may find it easiest to type all the content into a PowerPoint presentation and then work on enhancing the presentation with graphics, animation, and other features later. In this case, you may find some keyboard shortcuts for completing your slides easier than continually reaching for your mouse.
To quickly move from the title placeholder on a slide to the text placeholder, press Ctrl + Enter.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + m to create a new slide with the same layout as the previous slide.
Using these two tips, you can quickly create a series of bulleted list slides without ever reaching for your mouse! Insert the first bulleted list slide; then follow these steps:
- Type the slide title.
. - Press Ctrl + Enter to move to the text placeholder; then type the bulleted text.
. - Press Ctrl + Shift + m to insert a new slide; then repeat the previous steps!
