Gordon Lodge

Gordon Lodge is a classic Wisconsin resort--nestled on North Bay and Lake Michigan waters with lots of places on its 130 acres to stay and wander. North Bay Door County Lodging

There are also abundant things to do from dining in the on-premises restaurants to participating in sports and listening to live music.  Gordon Lodge opens for the season this weekend-on May 18.

Gordon Lodge, located at 1420 Pine Dr., Baileys Harbor, was built in the 1920s and reconstructed in the 1950s.  Remodeling projects, since 2006, have updated room dcor and finishes as well as landscaping and venues such as the Gordon Lodge Event Center and Top Deck restaurant and bar.

Here, accommodations include rooms inside a sprawling one-level lodge building as well as cottages. Lodge rooms and cottages have water views.

People can choose from 16 lodge rooms with king-size beds and four with two double-size beds. All have private bathrooms and include flat screen TV/built-in DVD player/cable and a refrigerator.

During recent remodeling, rooms have been updated with new carpeting, furnishings, linens and painted walls.  Black wood furnitureBridgeport Waterfront Resort   was crafted in Door County by a local craftsman.

Bathrooms are freshly painted and plumbing and fixtures were updated as well. Gordon Lodge also preserves some mid-century touches such as the retro tile from the 1950s in the bathrooms.

Guests, who prefer to have a small vacation place to themselves, may choose one of the six Bayside cottages or one of the many Lakeside cottages.  The Bayside cottages, actually adult retreats, sit on the edge of a bluff with the North Bay waters below.

Lakeside cottages offer a full Lake Michigan view and include No 14-the Walnut, a honeymoon suite (with one large bedroom).

Weddings are popular at Gordon Lodge. That's because there's a spacious event center here with focal points including a tall stone fireplace, pretty wood dance floor and lovely furnishings.  The sunroom is a wonderful site for guests to chat over drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

Included in guests' stays is a breakfast buffet in the event center. Top Deck restaurant (where live music takes place on select summer evenings) serves up lunch and dinner.

Gordon Lodge includes bike, paddle boat and kayak rentals in the cost of the stay.  Also here is a new fitness center, tennis courtEgg Harbor Lodge Banner , basketball courts and hiking trails.  Swimmers can enjoy the private sand beach and an outdoor heated pool. Check out more about Gordon Lodge and other wonderful places to stay at www.DoorCountyNavigator.com.
