A Thank you from the MCC
Loaves and Fishes
Easter!

Dear Durrell and Sunshine Cathedral:

Many thanks for your generosity - the Cathedral's was one of the largest gifts to our Haiti relief effort early this year. MCCers have given $33,000 to this effort, and your gift made a big difference.

Just to let you know - our church in Santo Domingo, funded by MCC, delivered food, water and medical supplies to 22 families (hundreds of people) identified by the Haitian members of MCC. They also connected to the LBGT community, which is suffering greatly after the earthquake, and who were thrilled that we cared enough to find them and reach out with food, water, supplies, love and caring.

We also gave our first grant of $10,000 to Housing Works, which provides shelter and emergency medical care to those with HIV/AIDS in Haiti. And, the Santo Domingo church will return in a second trip in early April, bringing tents and tarps as well.

Thanks for giving your people a chance to give [to this worthy cause].

Your generosity and faithfulness is a great example!

Blessings,

Rev. Nancy Wilson

MCC Presiding Elder & Moderator

Loaves and Fishes - Lent

The Loaves and Fishes ministry is collecting food for the needy every Sunday during Lent. This year, in addition to having the opportunity to donate food every Sunday during Lent we are again giving our congregants the opportunity to provide the fixins for Easter Dinner to needy families. Suggested items are a small canned ham, canned vegetables such as green beans and potatoes, rice mixes, etc... non-perishable items only, please.  We'll provide you with grocery bag to carry your Easter Dinner donations to church, please stop by the Loaves and Fishes table in the courtyard (between the Chapel and Social Hall) to pick up your grocery bag. All donations should be brought to church by Palm Sunday (March 28th). Thank you for your ongoing support!
