1. Are there really no 'bill-backs' with the
Unison-APC Exchange Program ?

That is correct, there are no bill-backs. The factory program has essentially removed the uncertainty between normal exchange and BER. In the rare case of BER, the special price option is a pleasant surprise when compared to what the open market can offer. This program is relatively new, and now operators can eliminate the price mystery element from their starter generator exchanges, while saving the downtime waiting for parts.

2. Why are the Unison OEM exchange prices in some cases slightly higher than competitors?

Obviously the liberal inclusion of most non-standard replacement parts into the exchange price as flat rate. That means items like shafts, terminal blocks, fans, armatures, etc. which traditionally are 'bill back' items, are included in the OEM flat rate exchange price, at no extra charge. This gives operators price visibility and limits their upside cost exposure in the case of BER units. No more waiting on big ticket parts, armatures to be rewound, or facing outrageous BER quotes. Other value added features include OEM reliability, OEM warranty, and OEM 'XL/XL2' extended life brushes. Amazingly, for some platforms like the 160SG, and the 400SG, OEM prices are right at or just below the open market standard exchange price.

3. Are discounts offered from factory list price?

4. What about availability? What is the leadtime?

As a result of our program blanket order placed late last year, we are presently receiving large shipments of generators monthly through years end. These new receipts augment our existing provisions and expand our stock support capability, outright and exchange for virtually all popular non-proprietary helicopter platforms. What's more, because of limited cores in the market, our exchange pool was established primarily with factory new units. In many cases, the first customers choosing to utilize the factory OHC exchange program, will actually receive new exchange units at the OHC price, for a limited time of course. Just another reason to give it a try !

New units include OEM FAA8130-3 or

EASA Form 1 depending on mfr. OHC units include current OEM FAA8130-3 tags with EASA145 release. Specific tag details available upon request. Prices quoted are US dollars, FOB Houston, TX.
