| Too Young for a Facelift but Still Want a Fresh Look?
Consider a Demi Lift or the NEW Sculptra Cosmetic! |
| The other day, one of our loyal LJCSC patients asked about what she could do that would turn back the clock but not be extreme. This is a common request and there are a host of options available.
A surgical option would be a Demi Lift, which is a much more modified facelift typically involving shorter scars, less muscle tightening, less downtime and less cost. A great candidate for this type of surgery is the patient who is just beginning to notice signs of aging. A demi lift typically costs about $5000, depending on the surgical plan. It should get you back to work in about a week and you may wonder why you didn't do it sooner!
One of the most exciting non-surgical alternatives, Sculptra Cosmetic, was just approved by the FDA for cosmetic use last week! It has been used to restore lost volume in the face for HIV/AIDS patients for decades and now is another tool in our facial rejuvenation tool box.
Unlike fillers (such as Restylane or Juvederm) that temporarily plump up the wrinkle or defect, Sculptra works progressively by restoring volume. It actually stimulates the body to produce its own collagen, resulting in a more natural-looking, youthful appearance that can last up to two years!
Sculptra requires a little bit of patience, however. You will have 2-3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart (which allows the product time to work with your body to stimulate the collagen growth).
