Meet Marianne Johnson, owner of Pickled Pear Laneā¢, an online fabric store specializing in contemporary quilting-weight cottons from today's favorite modern designers. After leaving her full-time job as a graphic designer to be a stay-at-home mom in Dec. of 2007, Marianne knew finding a creative outlet was a must in order to keep her sanity while chasing a one-year-old around all day. After dabbling in just about every creative outlet she could find, her love of fabric stuck out the most. "I love how fabric can be used in so many different ways and mediums. From quilting to scrapbooking, to decopaging an ugly trashcan, the uses are endless." With the encouragement and support of her husband, Pickled Pear Lane was born in November of 2008. "Creating a business that allows me to stay at home with my son is a tremendous blessing, and the support from my customers has been an added bonus." As Marianne's inventory continues to grow, she strives to carry new and closeout lines at discount prices. Marianne is located in Phoenix, Arizona. To check out her fabric shop, visit www.pickledpearlane.com, and make sure to get weekly updates by stopping by www.pickledpearlane.blogspot.com. |

Lots to do getting ready for the last few weeks before Inspired. It is so exciting getting down to the wire. We have officially opened up the Inspired. mini workshops to the public this week, so if you are nearby or want to make the trip to be a part of all the fun all day Thursday and Friday and Saturday evenings. We also have the vendor fair open to the public if you need a little extra enabling to shop too. Kandi and I have been working on some new ideas for product packaging and our first is debuting with the Fabric ATC Kits. the kraft colored pillow boxes just make me happy. it is the simple things in life that truly tickle me. We've also been working on some new inspiration journal kits that will be out next week and word from Prima is that the Fabric Scrapbooking product started arriving in their ware house yesterday, so I am hoping it will be on my doorstep and available for sale in a week or so. |

I am always inspired by something daily and the times that I do get to just let loose and play are always reflections and or reactions to what i see, touch and feel. These are just a couple of the things that this month really spoke to me. |
trash to treasure

Meet the designer of this really cool recycled masterpiece Michelle Townsend Wallace. She is a writer, artist, and musician living in Dallas, Texas. She has a background in counseling and non-profits, and is always looking for opportunities to integrate her many passions. Michelle has been married for 11 years to her childhood sweetheart, and they have three children.
Art Pendants: When I was cleaning out our old spice rack, I used the jars for buttons and beads, but I didn't want to just throw away the little plastic filters. So I looped some jewelry wire through one of the holes in the filter, covered both sides with decorative papers, and added designs. I used vintage images, sheet music, watercolor paints and glitter to the pendants. Then I added some beads with jump rings to complete each unique art pendant. To see examples of the pendants, go to my etsy site. You can use any of the pictures, and be sure to look in the "sold" section for others.

dear kandi,

Congratulations to the winner of last month's movie trivia Cam Betz! I was overwhelmed by the response last month - and quick, wow! I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about the downloads from Donna's website. When you make a purchase of a download, the links are only active for 72 hours. Within that 72 hours is when you must download the file, not necessarily watch it, but download it. After the download is on your computer, it's yours to view as many times and whenever you wish. If for some reason you forgot, your computer crashed, or you forgot that your computer crashed, just contact me and I can reactivate any links for you. Never fear, Kandi is near! This month's movie trivia ... "I'm a very good driver." What movie? What is the character name? Actor who portrays the character? Who was it said to - character name? Actor who portrays that character? My office number is 704-948-4627 and my e-mail is kandi@donnadowney.com. Signed, Dazed & Confused in Huntersville (Kandi)
