Greetings!

November means it is getting chilly outside and there is nothing I like more than staying indoors sipping a cup of hot cocoa and browsing some good inspirational hot spots...so go turn on the kettle and get ready to curl up to inspiration!

creative enlightenment
website badgeThe art of learning to embrace and seek creative opportunities has been filling my thoughts lately and I am enjoying pushing myself across the line I have drawn for myself in the sand every chance I get. I am continually inspired and motivated by how the simple act of encouragement and the freedom to create without limits changes a person.

This month i have witnessed a change not only in myself, but in so many others. A creative change for the good. Woman, artists, friends all reaching outside of their comfort zones and embracing a new side of their creative potential. It excites me to see the smiles that result from their creative victories.

i am so excited to see where the campaign for creativity takes us, i am hoping it inspires a new revolution of confidence in each one of us.

"believe in your creative potential,
enjoy the creative process,
try something new,
explore new possibilities,
but most of all believe."

Totally stumbled across Mark Lawrence's artwork while browsing flickr. His work is just so colorful, bright and abstract that I spent a good long while just clicking through each piece in his gallery.

Now I am not a religious person by any stretch, but I found his faith and scripture based inspirations downright captivating!

As I clicked around further I found his blog and peeked into his bio. I became a fan the instant I read his opening sentence...

"I believe in art.  I believe its beauty and power can enrich and transform lives.  I also believe that art is capable of engaging and encouraging the inner spirit."

Totally worth a visit!

trash to treasure
business cards
cards
I am pretty sure you either have a business card of your own or have picked up one or two at some point along the way.  November's trash to treasure challenge is to use them.

here are some creative ideas starters to get you thinking.
  • alter and bind into a custom mini-album
  • creatively conceal and create your own calling card
  • use it as a page embellishment to document a visit
  • pull out your collection of cards from your last vacation and add them to your album
  • punch, cut, and transform into new shapes
  • staple to page edge to create tabs
  • layer and adhere a few together to make thicker mini-canvas boards
  • create a funky business card collage
So the next time you are out to dinner, the doctor's office or local store grab one and see how you can incorporate this common form of greeting into your next creative project.

TTT/October: Recycled Fabrics
Meet Marianne Hope and see her amazing layouts using recycled fabrics!
marianne hope
I am Norwegian, married to my German sweet heart, Till (yes that's a name....) and mom to Mats, Jonas and Lotte. We live in the Netherlands, outside Amsterdam, and are loving it! The day I heard about scrapbooking for the first time, back in 2003, I knew I had found my perfect outlet for my interests in photography, designing and paper crafting. I love to scrap about "the little things" we experience in our every day life, preserving the precious memories for generations to come. My favorite scrapbooking supplies are old and new fabrics, felt, buttons, lace and ribbon, masking tape and my photos. I love sewing, painting, distressing, creating texture and dimension on my layouts, making them my own.
