Greetings!

I have to say my mind has been going in a million different directions over the past month and I think it is just the beginning! My office has looked like a tornado had blown through it twice and I finally returned it to a state of peace, just in time to turn it upside down again.

I am told that is good, means creativity is going on, at least that is the story I am sticking with anyway.

As summer winds down and school starts up again, I hope you can find the time to creatively play in a mess of your own.

inside the studio
The studio has gotten a complete cleaning as I switch gears and mail out boxes of projects for one book and move onto the layouts for the next.

After displaying most of my wood mounted stamp stash on the walls, it opened up space in the chest of drawers I had them in. I decided to use some of these drawers for my mounting supply of buttons, brads, tapes and eyelets. As I begin work on the layouts book next week, I will know better how I like the change.

Also just received a huge UPS delivery today, 500 of the coolest tote bags I have ever seen! You should have seen my husband's face as the UPS man backed his truck up into my driveway and unloaded the 15 large boxes into the garage. i could hear him saying, "What the hell did you order???"

The tote bags were one of the important things I had to have for my
event
, I had to have cool ones that I would want to carry after the event! (What can I say I am a bag girl...) Each one is monogramed with the word inspired...I wish I could show them to you, I want to, but some things need to be a surprise!

trash to treasure
WOW! lots of awesome submissions this month, who knew shopping tags had so much creative potential? Check out this awesome mini album by Amber Benton of  Panama City, FL as well as the other trash to treasure projects for more inspiration.

This month lets do it by the book...OK, altered book. What can you do with your old book or dictionary pages this month? Try your hand at decoupage, use it as patterned paper, cut it out for embellishments or simply alter the book itself. I am really excited to see just how far you can take this one!

If you're up to the challenge, email your trash to treasure pictures to donna@donnadowney.com and write "book pages" in the subject line and you just might find your work may be featured in the September Creative Playground newsletter.

Husbands Wanted!!!!

Hi all,

As most of you may know, registration for the Inspired. Artist Workshop begins September 15th. Please be sure to start reserving your rooms soon as they are starting to fill up. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know.

Also why not bring your husband to the event and make it a "Golf Weekend" for them? The resort has its very own golf course  www.rockyrivergolf.com. The Golf Club is currently rated as one of North Carolinas Top 100 Golf Courses. We will be scheduling some fun golf activities for the weekend while the ladies are attending workshops. We will also do prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, longest putt and etc.

Since the resort is the official hotel of Lowes Motor Speedway, we are looking to schedule a group tour to see the Speedway for all the race fans out there. While your there, the speedway offers several different driving schools like "Richard Petty" & "Jeff Gordon" where you can ride as a passenger in a real stock car with a qualified instructor approaching 160 mph! The experience will give you a whole new appreciation for NASCAR drivers

Also don't forget to remind the guys that the resort is right next to Concord Mills Shopping Center which offers several great restaurants, bars and sport shops.

Not only will it be a great weekend for the ladies but for the guys too! Please contact me bill@donnadowney.com with any questions you have about the event.
