What do the party platforms tell you?
Take a few minutes to review the recently adopted platforms of Maine's Democratic, Green Independent and Republican parties. They are both explicit and nuanced in how each of Maine's recognized political organizations see the world and how they each wish to govern.
What seems common to all three are expressions of fear that some one or thing is gaining control over our lives and needs to be regulated or restrained. For Democrats and Greens, it seems that corporations are the source of their fears and for Republicans, government is the threat.
Please take a half hour to read these three declarations and see what you think. Also, see if you can find the areas of agreement and share those with candidates for the Legislature and governor.
