APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR NEW DISTRICT LICENSED MINISTERS Persons interested in securing an application for a Mid-Atlantic District Minister's License are requested to contact the district secretary, Terry Sowden at tsowden@juno.com or 443.557.0450 by September 10, 2012.
All candidates must have completed at least six (6) courses in the minister's course of study by February 2013 and have held a local minister's license issued by their local Church of the Nazarene for one year. Transcripts of work completed at colleges, universities and Bible colleges need to be forwarded to Terry S. Sowden, 108 Central Ave., Glen Burnie, MD 21061 for evaluation. Pastors are reminded to forward this information to those in their local congregations that may qualify to apply for a district minister's license. Candidate and spouse (if applicable) will be required to attend the Ministry Assessment Center January 4-6, 2013 at Roxbury Holiness Camp & Conference Center, Roxbury, PA.
EASTERN SHORE FRESH EXPRESSIONS VISION DAY SET FOR SEPTEMBER 27. Retreat Speakers Needed: At the upcoming Leadership Advance (TEAM Day) on Saturday, Sept. 22, there will be a seminar on leading small church retreats. The seminar presenters would like to pass out a listing of available clergy and non-clergy speakers who would make themselves available for retreats. If you know of someone or you yourself would be willing to be listed, please submit your name, contact information, and possible areas of specified ministry (i.e. youth, women, etc.). Motorcyclists are invited to join in W.O.W. (Wonders Of His World) Motorcycle Ride with Dr. Michael Benson hosted by Petersburg Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, September 29. The ride will leave Petersburg Nazarene at 10:30 and include a lunch stop to Altoona, the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, "The Cove" (rolling farm country in Blair Co., PA), Amish country, Revolutionary era farm, Arch Springs and points of interest around Lake Raystown. The ride will conclude around 3:00 with a picnic supper provided by the Petersburg Church and devotional by Dr. Benson, Nazarene Evangelist and member of the Priesthood Motorcycle Ministry. The Come to the Fire Conference is being held at Olivet Nazarene University October 11-13. This year live streaming of this holiness conference for women is available to churches as well as to individuals in their homes. Forty churches have already contacted us about being a host church and some are opening their doors to the other churches in their district. Saturday, October 20: Grace Pointe Community for Missions 5K Trail Run/Walk. Registration begins at 8am race begins at 9am Runners may pick up registration pack early---Friday , October 19th from 4-6pm at the church. Benefits Grace Pointe's "Back Pack Buddies" ministry-providing food over weekends and holidays during the school year for children that are challenged with not having enough food during that time frame (most needy children receiving free/reduced breakfast and lunch at school).
