Greetings!

The past month has been full of historic headlines, all reminding us that we are just a small part of the bigger picture. Sometimes we can become so inundated in our day to day trials that we forget all our many blessings and that each one of us has the power to make a difference!

One way to make a difference in the world of those around you is to always strive to be the BEST you can be. Think of ways you can work to be the best boss, employee, sales person, co-worker, family member, friend, citizen, etc., that you can be. Treat each client as a special privilege... (yes, even the bride-zillas!) None of us are perfect, but those who succeed are the ones that are continually looking to improve themselves. What can you do to improve your "you" this month?

At Bridal Shows, Inc. we are dedicated to be being the best in the business, and want to help YOU. Our business is not just about sales, but we aim to change lives by building businesses! Call us today so we can learn how we can best serve you in your road to success. 972-713-9920

    Naomi's Notes: "Excellence"
    by: Naomi Hulme, CEM

If we strive for excellence in everything we do for our business, we will make great strides every day. Excellence means going above and beyond, all of the time. In sales, it means striving to do more today than you did yesterday, bringing in a lot more sales this year than you did last year, never going backwards. In a tough economy, we have to work smarter and harder and get more creative.

The word "mediocre" in Webster's dictionary is defined as: 1. neither very good nor very bad; ordinary; average, 2. Not good enough; inferior. If we do just what is expected or just enough to get by, then we are cheating ourselves and our company.

Excellence will only take place if you are trying to hone your skills and abilities. If you are listening to cd's , going to seminars, reading books about your specific position, and learning from an expert or mentor, then you will pick up on new ideas, motivate yourself and gain more confidence in what you are doing. This will show you are caring about what you do and will motivate you to be your best.

If you are a business owner, this is a must every single day. If you are an employee of a company, treat it as your own business and increase your effectiveness. Don't be there just to draw a paycheck and drain the company. For both business owner and employee, everyone is paying attention to you every day to see how you view what you do and how you do it.

Every company wants to excel at what they do and the value they bring to their staff and to their customers and suppliers. Sales have to excel for the company to profit with the ever-increasing expenses of marketing, advertising, labor, insurance, and overhead.

Expect to excel and move forward if you are doing those things that create excellence whether it is individually or as a team.

Motivate yourself to have an attitude of EXCELLENCE every day.

    Cooking with Naomi: Mexican Pizza

Enjoy this yummy recipe from the kitchen of Naomi Hulme!

(The amount of each item is determined by how much you want to make-I do not have specific measurements of anything on this list-it just comes together and tastes great!)

Round Steak (cut into small pieces-diced)

Use a larger pot to brown the meat with a little oil. After meat is browned, add canned diced tomatoes (yes, empty all of it in the pot with the liquid), canned diced green chilies, and water. As the mixture cooks, you can thicken it a little bit with cornstarch or flour (put about 1 T. cornstarch in a cup with c. cold water to dissolve the cornstarch and then add to the mixture to thicken it some). When this steak/tomato/green chilies/water mixture is ready, then you can do the next step.

In a large skillet, add a good amount of butter and place a round flour tortilla (I use large flour tortillas) on the butter. Add shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tortilla and lightly brown the tortilla the cheese will melt nicely).

Place the tortilla on a plate and spoon a good amount of the steak mixture on top of the tortilla (I put a lot of the steak mixture on the tortilla), and fold the tortilla over. Eat with a fork and enjoy! This needs to be eaten immediately, so you may want to have more than one skillet going if you have a group to feed.

(This recipe came from Brian & Mary's grandma , Joan Butler, many years ago.)

    An Hour A Day...

An hour a day and you can be on your way to becoming the best in the business!

    by Kevin E. Graham

Did you know that you could invest an hour a day and become the best in your entire industry in as little as a year's time? This isn't some work harder recipe, like the old suggestion to make five more calls a day or to get up an hour earlier per day; although, depending on your schedule you may find that getting up an hour earlier clears you for what I am about to suggest.

So what can you do to be the best in the business?

Read! That's it. It really is as simple as that.

But don't just read anything! Spend 30 minutes a day reading about your industry, products, competition -- anything and everything about your field. We live in a day and age where the average half-life of a career is less than eight years. By reading 30 minutes a day on your topic, you'll quickly become one of the most informed and insightful people around.

And what about the other 30 minutes a day? Read about sales, negotiating and other fundamental aspects of selling -- things like persuasion and account management. By investing 30 minutes a day on learning and developing your craft, you'll quickly become the expert in selling.

Not only that, but you'll find massive motivation from this 30 minutes. Why? Because sales is exciting, that's why! And every time you hit your numbers, or land more sales, that sales success adds energy and momentum to your future endeavors -- resulting in even more sales success!

Combine that with all of the knowledge you are developing with the other 30 minutes on products and your industry, and you have a powerful combination that will not be denied.

Remember, in today's fast past world technologies, strategies and new innovative and successful sales techniques are constantly evolving. To stay on-top of the game you need to take the time to explore all of the tools you need for enabling sales success.

To make the most out of your hour a day investment -- in addition to reading about your industry, products and competition -- use the latest negotiation training materials, solution selling strategies, empowered sales training tips and latest training materials that will teach you everything you need to know to stay one step ahead of the rest.

An hour a day and you can be on your way to becoming the best in the business!
