Wedding Gown Designer Jorge Perez coming to the Dallas Bridal Show in July! |
 |
Jorge Pérez is no stranger to the wedding
industry. He has over 20 years enveloped in luxury
tabletop design as the National Spokesperson for
Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood China, and Royal
Doulton. He is known as the entertaining guru whose
mantra is "your table is your label". Jorge has now
taken that same passion and designed his first bridal
gown collection.
Mixing his vibrant Cuban heritage and memories
of his abuela (grandmother), he has created a
collection that is 1950's chic elegance. "It's not about
the dress, it's all about the woman. She (the bride) is
the center stone in a great piece of jewelry (Jorge
Pérez de la Habana design) and I'm just here to help
her create her dream on her wedding day."
Tell me about your inspiration, your
grandmother.
My memories of my grandmother began in
Havana watching her sketch and create gowns for the
family for special occasions like Quinceanera,
wedding and other special event gowns for family and
friends. It was her pride and joy. I would sit by her side
and watch and learn from her. I believe this is where
my passion for designing beautiful gowns was born.
There was such love and care she took in creating
these dresses because she knew how important and
special the day was. This collection is dedicated to
her."
Jorge brings an updated look to classic chic to his
collection. He uses sumptuous materials to bring his
designs to life. These gowns are handcrafted and
adorned with luxurious embellishments, including
Swarovski crystals.
What is it that you want to share with brides
about choosing a dress for their wedding?
Your dress should tell the story of who you are. It
should reflect your passions, your hopes and truly be
the culmination of all your dreams. It really saddens
me when the dress takes away from the beauty of the
bride. That could mean that it's not a correct fitting, or
the shape/style isn't complimentary to their shape. I
always tell brides YOU should be wearing the dress,
not the other way around.
There is such beauty, passion and joy that come
from Jorge's designs. It is a time that takes you back
to old world Havana and the glamour of the 1950's.
Here's wishing you Buena suerte y un matrimonio
feliz (Good luck and a happy marriage).

Naomi's Notes: "Decisions" by: Naomi Hulme, CEM |
 |
Each decision you make affects everyone. For a
business owner, you have to think of the whole team.
As an employee, you have to think of the whole team.
Trying to make the right decision at all times
requires continual learning. We should learn from our
mistakes and make things better the next time instead
of doing the same things over again.
As you know, I encourage everyone to read books,
listen to cd's, learning something every day. When we
are "beefing up our brain" to new information and
positive thoughts every day, we will make better
decisions. If we get comfortable and think we don't
need to learn anything else, we will get lazy and not be
as sharp to make those good or tough decisions
when needed. Or worse, we don't make decisions at
all when we really need to. Not making a decision is a
decision itself.
Make a list of things that you need to make
decisions on and start with the top priority and make a
major decision and a minor decision every day.
As stated in Self Leadership and the One
Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard, Susan Fowler,
and Laurence Hawkins, "When goals work out, it is
usually because you instinctively take the initiative to
be a self leader and get what you need to
succeed."
Decide to be professional. Decide to strive for
excellence. Decide to be positive. Decide to be
confident. Decide to be a team player. Decide to be a
winner.

Naomi also concerning Decisions that was in the April
2009 newsletter titled "Making Decisions,"

Testimonial from the Plano Bridal Show |
 |
"I am a small business, but it has grown immensely
from two things: the Plano Bridal Show and referrals.
They say that the first five years of a business is it's
most difficult, but that difficulty has not shown yet, due
to the Plano Bridal Show. At the show, I am able to
represent my business which allows future brides the
ability to speak one-on-one with me, see my portfolio
close-up, and ask any questions about my services. I
am greatly appreciative of the opportunjity to reperesnt
my business in such an awesome way. Thank you
Plano Bridal Show."

3 Tips on Writing Better Email Copy
by: TJ Philpott
Every online marketer can use tips on writing
better articles, blog post, press releases you name it
but there is one area often overlooked. Most anybody
working online is familiar with the need to build a list
but it is what you do with your list that will have the
greatest impact on your business. Ultimately the
success of your email based marketing campaign will
be determined by your copy writing when making
contact with list members. If your sales copy is not
engaging or fails to get your message across your
efforts will likely be wasted.
Here are 3 fast and easy copy writing tips you will
want to follow when composing any emails to be sent
to your list members.
#1 - Stay on Point
Every email you send out to your list will have a
specified reason or point for why you are sending it. It
is important to not try and cover more than just ONE
topic or point in ANY email. Remember to also to keep
as short as possible!
State the reason for your correspondence right up
front and get to your point as quickly as possible.
Considering that you were lucky enough to have the
recipient open the mail in the first place you certainly
do not want to abuse or waste the readers' time.
#2 - Provide Useful Information
It is recommended NOT to send promotional
materials to your list members every time you make
contact. It is important to also send them content that
is useful in some form or fashion.
An email based marketing campaign requires that
you also 'manage' your list insofar as you need to
keep them happy. The last thing you want to do is give
them the impression that EVERY email from you will
be promoting something. This relationship is 'give
and take' and you MUST be helpful if you expect for list
members to make purchases with you.
Maintain a healthy 'mix' of nothing but useful content in
your campaign to keep your subscribers opening your
mail and not opting out.
#3 - The Need for a Call to Action
When you are promoting something to your list
your sales copy should be compelling and persuasive
enough to get your readers' attention. Once again
remember it is an email so you do not have a lot of
time to get your message across.
Perhaps the single biggest component of any
promotional mailing is the call to action. You must
clearly tell the reader what it is you want them to do.
After they have read through your sales copy you
MUST tell them what they need to do next. In most
cases you are sending them a link therefore tell them
to 'go here now' or 'click on this link' to receive the
benefits you have tempted them with.
Gaining tips on writing anything from articles to
press releases is of great value when working online
and most especially when composing emails. A very
important component of any online business is the
email based marketing campaign which will only be
successful if your sales copy is effective. Let's face it
when you build a list your intentions are to promote to
these people but your success will require good copy
writing skills. The 3 tips shared here are easy to
implement and are based upon making your emails
concise and to the point. By following these guidelines
it will make your messages easier to read and
understand while also supplying useful information
for your list members. This will result in people being
more appreciative of the information they are receiving
and thereby more receptive to your promotional offers
and services.
