Read about and study any topic that might pertain to your strengths, whether it be a skill, a character trait, a value, how you are different than your competition, key relationships that matter to you, your expertise, experience, and others. The more you try to learn to increase your strength assets, the more opportunities will come to you. It's a big world, and there is room for all of us. Those that sit back and do nothing will not have as many opportunities.

In their book Now, Discover Your Strengths, Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D. state, "Every environment offers chances to learn. Clearly, to develop your strengths, it is your responsibility to keep alert for these opportunities and then to incorporate them into your performance." They also mention changing your focus by changing your values and to direct your talents toward more positive results. "We don't change. We simply accept our talents and refocus our lives around them. We become more self-aware."

Have a monthly and yearly plan for tackling new ways to utilize and grow your strengths, one step at a time. Stick with your plan as much as you can. Yes, you will need to be flexible and make some changes along the way. It does not happen overnight.

This is a lifetime of learning and growing, becoming better every day at what we do and how we do it.

He showcased his 2010 designer collection in a dynamic "New York Runway Style" production complete with a choreographed lighting and music program. The runway production had its dynamic finale with Demetrios himself accompanying his models for one last walk down the runway. Demetrios was available both days to personally meet brides, pose for photos, and sign autographs. Demetrios also appeared on Good Morning Texas the week leading up to the Dallas Bridal Show.

Demetrios James Elias was born near the port of Athens in Piraeus, Greece. As a young boy, he immigrated to the United States with his family. While still in school, he assisted his parents in their family- owned bridal store in Warren, Ohio.

In 1980, Demetrios dream of owning his own company became a reality. He purchased Ilissa Bridals of New York City. Virtually overnight, he turned this small-unknown business into a thriving international company. Bridal boutiques throughout the world proudly sell Demetrios gowns. Today, the Demetrios brand is the prestigious leader in bridal fashion.

As designer and owner, Demetrios is a fashion icon in the bridal gown industry. His gowns offer women the widest and most versatile styles, and are on the cutting edge of the fashion world. They have been showcased in all leading bridal magazines, including our own publication For The Bride. This leadership and expertise in bridal category marketing continues to expand.
