  • Categories are Closing!

As many of you already know, Bridal Shows, Inc. limits all of the categories in each show to create a well- balanced show. From years of experience we know that companies do not do as well if there is too many of one category in each show. Not everyone falls into a major category but the main categories are: Photography, Facility/Venue, Wedding Consultant, Videography, DJ, Catering, Cakes, Florist, Gowns, Tuxedos, Jewelry, and the list goes on.

For more specific non-wedding related categories such as Real Estate, Dental, Spa, Chiropractor, etc., the categories are limited to even smaller numbers.

Because of these limitations we are already closing out several categories in the upcoming 2008 shows. Please call us today to see if your category is still open. If you want to build your business through the shows put down a deposit as soon as possible to reserve your space because there is never any guarantee when those categories will close!

Dallas Bridal Show Sponsors Walls Walkers

Whenever possible we try to give back to our community in any way we can. This time our contributions hit closer to home.

Tracy Kopinski, Administrative Manager and Account Executive at Bridal Shows, Inc., recently teamed up with her family members to walk in the Walk to D'Feet ALSŪ in honor of her dad, Bill Walls. The group was named Walls Walkers and raised over $2,000 to help find a cure for ALS!

"In 2007 I will walk in honor of my dad, who is courageous in his battle with ALS. During his struggle with the debilitating effects of ALS, my dad forever inspires us with his bravery and determination. This inspiration encouraged me to join the fight against ALS." ~Tracy Kopinski

The Dallas Bridal Show was proud to sponsor the team's efforts on Saturday, October 13th in the 3 mile walk. We are all inspired not only by Bill Walls' endurance, but the strong bond of love his family shares. This too is a testament to the Walls family patriarch.

    Naomi's Notes: "Renew Your Passion"
    by: Naomi Hulme

Whether you are new in business or a long-time veteran in owning a business, it is essential to re- evaluate your goals on a consistent basis. When we first "knew" what we wanted to do, we had to plan, budget, work really hard, and keep our passion in our thoughts every day.

The first year creates new goals for the second year and so on. Once the three-year growth hump has passed, a whole new vision comes into place. When we are really serious about what we do and do things the right way, our passions can be stronger and more sincere.

Be Accountable to yourself about your passion and make sure you are on the right path. Build on your strengths and keep learning each day to grow yourself. Work on your weaknesses so that they become a great strength.

Our passion is renewed every time we have positive thoughts about our efforts. Stay confident and pursue your passion with zest so you can look back with pride and look forward to the future.

    Newsletter Subscriptions break 1,000

We are very excited to announce that the voluntary subscriptions to our newsletters has reached a total of 1,010 emails!

When the newsletter first began back in October of 2005 we started with less than 100 contacts that had requested a monthly newsletter, and now two years later we have 10 times that amount receiving the newsletter every month. It was our decision when we first began the newsletter to not automatically send it to our entire database, but rather invite companies to subscribe. The fact that so many of you have subscribed has been a tremendous compliment to us and proves the dedication you all have to your companies by always looking for ways to grow.

Do you have friends or associates that you think would benefit from the Bridal Shows, Inc. newsletter? forward this message on by clicking "Forward" at the bottom of the page and invite them to subscribe!

It Works IF You Work It!

Don't we all wish there was a magic pill for everything? We are always looking for a quick fix to solve our problems. Diet pills, get-rich quick schemes, winning the lottery... But in reality we know that the road to true success involves hard, nitty gritty work. This does not have to be a negative thing though, because with hard work comes the satisfaction of achieving goals and the realization that you accomplished something.

Marketing your business and reaching for new heights in the growth of your company lives by the same rules. Unfortunately some people apply the "magic pill" syndrome to bridal shows and other forms of advertisement. It would be great if all you had to do was write a check, go to a bridal show, pass out flyers, then sit back and relax waiting for the calls to come in. Although calls will inevitably come to you, as they do us all, no business can survive long-term from incoming business alone.

At Bridal Shows, Inc. we are very upfront in educating companies about the process to achieving success from a show. If you have ever read any of our newsletters before or talked to anyone here then you already know what I am about to say...you guessed it! Follow up, follow up, follow up!

It seems simple enough, but believe it or not it is something many of us our lacking. We may have good intentions to follow up, and may even do a good job of it 2-3 weeks after a show when our energy is high. However it is the long-distance runner that takes the gold here! Never give up on your follow up process no matter how busy you are.

Make a committment to yourself and your company to make a certain number of out-bound connections everyday. This means phone calls (even 5 phone calls a day can make a difference!), emails, hand-written cards, etc. Don't let the fear of rejection hold you back or discourage you, because for every 10 "no's" you will get one "yes!"

Imagine the sense of accomplishment you will feel when you reach your goal everyday and see that the money coming in is attributed to your hard work. Our goal is to bring the brides to you, and we work hard to accomplish that. What you do with the brides after the show is up to you.

Remember, there's no magic pill, and that's a good thing! Celebrate your success when you realize that it works if and when you work it.
