Dear Friends,

Gleaning The Fields

To Feed America's Hungry.

The Society of St. Andrew, SoSA, delivered 60,927,414 servings to the hungry last year.

Volunteers go into the fields after harvest and gather left over vegetables and produce.

They take that food and then distribute it to various agencies... to feed the hungry.

They glean the fields just as people in the Old Testament.

    Quantities Boggle Your Mind.

* Potatoes...          10,561,328 pounds
* Produce...             9,747,810 pounds

29,179 volunteers made it happen.

SoSA iIs Poised To Break Out...

There's a petition coming before the upcoming UMC General Conference.  If adopted SoSA becomes a major emphasis in the Church's domestic hunger program.

That partnership means that in 4 years SoSA will improve salvaging to the 100 million pound mark.

They'd expand and encompass all the lower 48 states.

That puts a real dent in hunger...

By the way, Grace's United Methodist Men support SoSA in the annual potato drop in our area.

Pray for our hungry neighbors.

You can put her over the top.  She needs 250.

Our local chapter of Church Women United set a goal of 3,000.

They all go into Church World Service.  From there the sharpeners go to the corners of the world and every place in between.  Some even end up in the U.S.

Let's see if we can't top it off for Betty.

But note, they need to be free of any religious symbols.

CONCERNED ABOUT YOUTH AND INTERNET HAZARDS?

WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

Our youth's culture is rapidly changing!  FYI TJ Knowland, our Youth Director, will be holding Sunday evening sessions on "Youth Culture" to help people learn more about issues that are huge in today's world.

TJ plans to hold "Youth Culture" programs each 4th Sunday from 6:30-8pm.

This program is open to anyone.

Know anyone who is curious or concerned about this new technology world facing our youth?   Why not give them an invitation right now!

GRACE NIGHT OUT

Sundays at 6:30 P.M.  Topics "mirror" the sermon from the previous week, covering sections of the Apostles Creed.

Mar. 9:    Pastor Steve covers the "forgiveness of sins."

Mar. 16:  Grace Night Out climaxes with a look at the Resurection of the Body and the life everlasting.
