Tikunei Zohar, Lesson 4
By HaRav Ariel Bar Tzadok. Copyright (C) 2009 by Ariel Bar Tzadok. All rights reserved.
The Ancient One arose and said, "Adonai in thought rises, but not in number. About this is it written, "be silent all flesh before HaShem, for He is aroused out of His holy habitation" (Zekh. 2:17). He is aroused there like one aroused from his sleep who then returns to sleep, until such a time when YHVH, which is grace, is aroused, to fulfill there "with great grace will I gather you" (Isaiah 54:7). Great is called from the side of "the Great G-d" who is Mercy. And the Shekhina therein arises to be called "great." Certainly herein is the secret of redemption.

Like this: Yod Dalet Lamed, Hey Alef, Vav Alef Vav, Hey Alef, YHVH. Vav herein is the secret of redemption that is engraved in the Name of 72. These are VaHu (Vav Hey Vav), Ani (Alef, Nun, Yod), VaHu (Vav Hey Vav), initial letters being Vav Alef Vav. Thirteen attributes of grace of the Torah that are given from the right. (Tikun 22)

---------------------------------------

The Ancient One arose and said, "Adonai in thought rises, but not in number.

Throughout this Tikun, the Saba (Ancient One) speaks. Just who he really was, no one can say. There are many voices that descend from the holy domains to impart Torah and wisdom to those aligned to receive it. Alas, the number of those so aligned are few and grow fewer in every proceeding generation.

Adonai is G-d in Malkhut. Malkhut is the dimensional plane of the physical and the finite; it is measured and defined by number, letter and form. The inner core of this world is the Divine Shekhina Presence. It alone is the Source of all life in this dimensional plane (Asiyah). This is Adonai. We elevate the Core and align it with its source (Yetzirah, ZA) through the power of mind. This is mind over matter. This is also called the union of the Holy One, blessed be He (ZA) and His Shekhina.

Shekhina is within everything in our dimensional plane and is the Source of everything in our dimensional plane. But the many things are to It as the multiple infinite vessels that make up our universe. The Source ascends its Source through the proper channels, whereas the vessels (of Asiyah) stay put in their place. Thus Adonai (Shekhina) rises through the inner forms and power of thought and not through manipulations of the vessels of infinite number (science).

Silence here is the key, for all thought of ascent is built upon and strengthened only through silence. This is silence of speech and the silence of mind. Of this is it written, "silence your tongue from speech and clear your mind of questions." Arousal above comes about only in the proper way. As human beings are aroused below according to certain biological rules, so too is Heaven aroused only according to specific spiritual rules.

Yet, what exactly is spiritual arousal? This is the key and secret to the repair of our disconnected universe and the end of our long exile.

The connection between our universe (Asiyah) and our source universe (Yetzirah) has been seriously compromised. It is not disconnected totally and can never be. For if disconnection from our source universe was total, our universe would cease to exist in an instant. Connection now is at its lowest point. We call this "exile." In this state only the most basic of connections remain open, allowing in to our universe only the most minimum amount of life-force energy to maintain the system, but not enough for the system to grow and thrive.

Arousal, therefore, is the upgrade of the system. The Asiyatic universe can be upgraded through inputs of energy which flow into it from two sources of energy. The first are the great cosmic holes, known as black holes. The second is actually more powerful, although we at present do not see or experience this power. This is the power of concerted human effort, where mind and heart merge into one enabling what we call "soul" power to materialize.

In our present state soul power materializes only in the form of a nebulous, almost poetic energy without any perceivable visible forms. However, our lack of vision does not mean that such forms of manifestation do not exist. The course of human events is definitely affected by many factors happening simultaneously in the collective human unconscious.

Our source universe Yetzirah reveals the "Small Face" of G-d, which we call ZA. ZA embodies the energy potential which we call the Sefirot of Hesed, Gevurah and Tiferet (not to mention Netzah, Hod & Yesod). Hesed energy is revealed through the great 72 Names. These are 216 specific channels that materialize an energy force that actually overrides the present "exile" state of our universe. When this energy is channeled into our universe through the power of mind, heart, breath and speech, actual fundamental physical changes do take place. We saw this in Biblical days with such events as the parting of the sea (Moses) and the later stilling of the sun (Joshua). Even in recent times there are those trained in the usage of these powers to introduce into our universe an energy field that overrides the present natural course. This energy is termed to be supernatural, but essentially it is natural; it is just a greater form of natural than is presently perceived. Rather than call it supernatural, the Zohar calls it here "great." Those who can wield this power are called masters of this "good name" or in Hebrew, a Ba'al Shem Tov.

Elevating individual human consciousness to connect to and interact with this source of our universal life-force is the key to fundamentally changing the level of flow of said life-force into our dimensional plane. This is what we call redemption. In Biblical times, this energy was channeled to earth through Moses who endeavored to teach his generation how to wield it. Before Mashiah comes there must arise others who will act in like kind. For when the minds of the collective are raised, then the collective in general will follow suit. Once the collective internal can be elevated, the external will by nature follow suit. The results will be a major influx of source energy into our own dimensional plane, transforming the basics of how our universe operates. Thus, "the wolf will lay down with the lamb" (Is 11:6) might very well be more than a metaphor in that the fundamental/natural spirit of aggression and hostility will be totally removed and transformed.

The Name of YHVH when spelled out Yod Vav Dalet, Hey Alef, Vav Alef Vav, Hey Alef numerically equals 45, the same value as Adam (man, Alef, Dalet, Mem). Thus man below (human beings) have our source in "Man" above. This is the relationship of what we call soul to body and Heaven (the source universe Yetzirah) to earth (our physical universe Asiyah).

"Man" above is ZA. ZA is a composite energy field which includes within it the 216 forces summed up in the 72 Names. ZA is referred to as the Vav of the Name YHVH. Our universe is the final Hey and there are higher universes that are referred to as the Yod and the Hey. But these are concealed from us and we experience them only as they themselves are revealed through ZA. Thus the Yod and Hey universes are called Abba (father) and Imma (mother).

ZA is the Vav and Vav is spelled out as Vav Alef Vav. Vav Alef Vav themselves represent three triads of the 72 Names, these being VaHu (Vav Hey Vav), Ani (Alef, Nun, Yod) and VaHu (Vav Hey Vav). These three triads out of the 72 represent a concentrate form of the 72 in whole. Thus, during the Succot holiday, when by religious tradition we pray for rain, we are essentially doing more than merely requesting blessings. We are actually stimulating the source energy itself to in affect create the reality that we seek.

This act of stimulating or arousing the intervention of the Yetziratic plane into our own is accomplished through the combination of mind, heart, breath and speech through the prayers recited during the ritual known as Hakafot. In the Hakafot prayers we state Ani VaHu Hoshiana. The literal translation of this statement makes no real sense. The reason is because the statement is not a mere prayer, rather it is an invocation. Ani VaHu are two Names of the 72 triads which serve as concentrates of the whole. These are the secrets known to the Ba'alei Shem Tov. These two Names contain within them the Yetziratic power that replenishes the earth. Merely reciting them does not do this. Only those properly trained understand the secret of the "arousal." The other seventy Names, the numerical value of Sod (secret) still remain hidden, with their usages mostly unknown or unrevealed.

Vav Alef Vav also is numerically 13. 13 itself is the number of Ehad, one; the secret of unity. This was a secret known to the founding fathers of the original thirteen states of the United States.

The source universe is our singular connection to all universes above. It is called ZA (Yetzirah). ZA is the "Small Face" of G-d. And G-d is One. It is this oneness and singularity that gives to us all that is to be given. This is G-d's "mercy." This giving is the "thirteen attributes of Divine mercy." This giving is metaphorically called "the right." Although the source of this comes from a much higher place; that place is only revealed below through this place.

Silence your tongue from speech; clear your mind of questions. Open your heart and allow your silent inner voice to rise up and to speak from within you.
