"A person's path is always pure in his own eyes, but G-d weighs the soul." Proverbs 16:2

Vision is such a precious gift. We all recognize its value and we crave for our vision to be crystal clear. Yet, our scope of understanding vision is rather limited. Indeed, rather than have perfect vision most of us suffer from an acute lack of vision.

Not all vision is of the eyes, there is vision that sees the outside world and then there is vision that sees the inside worlds. Vision of the eyes sees only the form of things. Vision of the soul sees the true essence of things. One cannot clearly see the outside truths unless one can first clearly see their inner essence.

When one looks out upon the world, one sees only that which one's own vision allows one to see. One does not see things as they are, but only as how one thinks they are. Ultimately, all perceptions are in the mind and of the mind. One may indeed question if any of us has any true perception of anything that has not be tainted and colored by the prisms and prisons of our minds.

Skewered vision is a byproduct of the skewered mind. When one sees oneself as the center of the universe then one expects the entire universe to revolve around him/her. A person can thus convince themselves that any evil course is actually right and good. How can one see the world around oneself in the proper way if all that one can see is that everything should revolve around them? This is selfishness.

Our universe and all who reside in it are under the Great Guiding Hand of the Creator. Heaven alone is the center of Truth and each of us are merely its orbiting satellites. If we err in our orbits and endanger the orbits of others, Heaven sees. Heaven then takes the necessary steps to protect the others and to ultimately also protect us. If not for the Guiding Hand of Heaven, all of us would collide into one another. Thank G-d that His Higher Hand keeps us safe from harm and from harming others.

In our blindness we always think that our ways are right. Yet, G-d weighs the human soul to see if it is carrying its proper weight and is following its proper course. When all is right with a soul, then the soul will be able to bear the burden that is right for it. However, when the soul is found wanting in that it has either shirked its responsibilities or tries to veer from its preordained course, the subtle Higher Hand pushes the wayward soul back into its own proper orbit.

When this occurs either the soul accepts the subtle Influence or fights it with vigor. When surrender to Heaven is the soul's chosen course one then finds peace, accomplishment and survival. When one chooses to fight the Hand of G-d one quickly finds out the foolish vanity in such a choice.

Peace with Heaven or war against oneself are both in our own hands. Proper vision or distorted living, both are in our own hands. Right and wrong, good and bad can always be interpreted and reinterpreted. One must do more than merely believe that what one is doing is right and good. One must actually be doing what Heaven knows is right and good. To know this requires a vision beyond that of personal human selfishness.

How can one see with the eyes of Heaven and thus walk the proper path in this world? Simple; if one wishes to see like Heaven, then one must walk like Heaven. This is the secret of bringing Heaven down to Earth. As Heaven weighs each human soul to judge its proper measure, so too must we do with ourselves.

Every day we must make an accounting and ask the hard questions; is what I am doing for the greater service of Heaven or is what I do for my own personal selfish desires? Will what I do be of help or will it be the source of harm? Who is the ultimate center of my universe Heaven or me?

Beware! Answers and words can be deceiving! Only true action defines true intent. Only when one arrives at one's destination can we say that one had the clarity of vision to arrive there. Presently, we are all travelers. Where will we end up? This depends upon what path we walk down.

One who weighs the soul will gain clarity of vision and walk the right path. One who is already convinced of the rightness of their way and needs to know nothing further is blind and beyond our help. Heaven will have to nudge them. All we can do is pray that the subtle nudge does not have to become a hard push.
