Nissan Announces a Dealer Price Increase on Lubricants          

Nissan advised its North American dealers it will increase its  genuine oil program prices effective October 1, 2011. The price increase is said to be $1.20 on 5W-30, 10W-30, and 5W-20 in bulk.

Note: Whereas this increase is higher than what was recently seen when Toyota announced a price increase on its genuine oil (see JobbersWorld 9/15/11), it's important to note that Nissan had not increased its dealer program prices since April 2011. Toyota on the other hand, pushed through an increase in August and October of 2011 totaling $1.52 a gallon in bulk.

Further, prior to its April 2011 increase, Nissan held its dealer lubricant prices the same since the beginning of the program in May 2010.

Velaro Completes Purchase of Murphy Oil's Meraux, LA Refinery 

Valero Energy Corp. announced on October 1, 2011 that it has completed its acquisition of Murphy Oil USA Inc's oil refinery and related logistics assets in Meraux, La. The purchase price is $325 million and includes an adjacent product terminal, 20% equity interest in the Collins Product Pipeline and T&M terminal, 3.2% interest in the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP), and $260 million in inventory.  


Valero Energy Corporation, through its subsidiaries, is an international manufacturer and marketer of transportation fuels, other petrochemical products and power.
