CITGO's Lubricants Business is on the Block

JobbersWorld has learned that Citgo engaged Goldman, Sachs & Co. to assist with the possible sale of all or some of Citgo's lubricants business in this United States.

This business includes several blend plants and a full line of automotive and industrial lubricants.

This move is not totally unexpected considering Citgo's recent announcement that it will cease production of lubricant base oils.

Chevron announced earlier in the week (Monday) an 11% posted price increase on lubricants effective October 10, 2008.
