  • CONOCOPHILLIPS INTRODUCES 5W40 FULL SYNTHETIC API CJ-4 HDEO

ConocoPhillips Company announced the introduction of Triton ECT 5W40 Full Synthetic, a premium tier API CJ-4 diesel engine oil, made from high quality synthetic stocks and a state-of-the-art advanced additive for use by customers who want enhanced engine performance from equipment operating in a wide range of temperature and service conditions. This new heavy duty engine oil is designed for lubrication of modern low emissions diesel engines with after-treatment devices and back serviceable for use in older engines specifying the previous categories of engine oils. Triton ECT 5W40 Full Synthetic will be available to ConocoPhillips Lubricants customers who buy products under the Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 Lubricants brands, according to Reginald Dias, Director, Commercial Products, ConocoPhillips Company.

"We are pleased to offer our customers a new wide-grade full synthetic diesel engine oil that combines advantages of the synthetic stocks and performance of an advanced additive to deliver undiminished protection for heavy duty engines operating in extreme applications that range from high to low in temperature and service," says Dias. "Triton ECT 5W40 Full Synthetic has the potential to improve fuel economy relative to a 15W40 oil, benefiting customers through reduced fuel usage. As the performance requirements and market conditions elevate the demand for superior quality heavy duty engine oils, ConocoPhillips Company is dedicated to offering newer products that meet industry specifications while exceeding our customers' needs."

Triton ECT 5W40 Full Synthetic meets lubrication requirements of engines compliant with 2007 low emissions regulations and meets heavy duty engine oil specifications for Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Mack, and VOLVO.

Triton ECT 5W40 Full Synthetic is the latest addition to ConocoPhillips' existing API CJ-4 heavy duty engine oil products line, and is available now in bulk and drums.

... and there is more NEW from ConocoPhillips

In addition to the introduction of Triton, marketers are exited about ConocoPhillips announcement late last week about two new automotive lubricants and a reformulation oil to the 76 motor oil line.

The first of its new is the 76 Lubricants High Performance Full Synthetic Motor Oil. This is a 0W-20 grade that meets or exceeds the performance requirements of ILSAC API SM/GF-4. It is reportedly recommended for use in Honda, Toyota, and certain other vehicles that require API SM/GF-4 0W-20.

The second new in the 76 stable is 76 Super Synthetic Motor Oil. This product is billed as a top tier full-synthetic PCEO formulated to meet the performance requirements of GM4718M specification (this means Corvettes and late model Cadillacs). This product is available in SAE 5W- and 10W-30 viscosity grades.

...and the final new to its line of 76 PCEO is a reformulated version of its 76 Pure 5W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil. This product is formulated to meet API SM/CF, ACEA A3-04, and ACEA B4-04. In addition, it reportedly meets the service fill requirements of Mercedes-Benz 229.5, BMW Longlife-01 and VW 505.00/502.00.

In addition to the NEWS in PCEO and HDEO, ConocoPhillips also announced upgrades to its Tri-Brand VersaTrans ATF and Tri-Brand Mercon V ATF.

But ConocoPhillips is not the only one with NEWS!

North American Lubricants Introduces Pure Green Product Line

North American Lubricants, Co. (NAL) has announced the introduction of its Pure Green (TM) product line, developed to capitalize on the substantially growing demand for earthfriendly lubricants.

Formulated with "high-quality base stocks refined from collected used oil," Pure GreenTM is said to deliver the unique combination of ultimate performance and environmental conservation. Through the utilization of what NAL says is select re-refined base stocks and advanced additive systems, Pure GreenTM lubricants are said to offer performance equal to or greater than conventional lubricants and have similar price levels. Moreover, NAL says, valuable environmental benefits are created through preserving irreplaceable petroleum resources, reducing reliance on foreign crude oil, reducing the amount of used oil that is improperly disposed and drastically reducing air pollution caused by used oil that is down-cycled and burned.

NAL President Shane Terry says, "The introduction of Pure GreenTM to our premium brand continues our corporation's dedication to deliver new solutions to the lubricant market and maintains our commitment to proactive environmental responsibility. Antiquated re-refined lubricant supply chains had limited availability, a limited product line and did not meet modern performance specifications." Terry continues, "After solving these problems, we received considerable interest from a wide-range of market segments including; municipal (State, City, County) service facilities, trucking, garbage collection, construction and agricultural. This is a significant addition to one of the most valuable lubricant programs in the nation."

NAL Chairman Larry Read added, "We are also very excited about the initial demand voiced from our important customers in the installed oil change market. We see an immediate opportunity for our fast lube partners to use our earth-friendly product line to capitalize on the growing percentage of environmentally sensitive consumers and fleet accounts within their customer base. This service will add needed revenue and margin while differentiating themselves from local competition and enhancing customer retention."

NAL will offer passenger car motor oil, heavy-duty engine oil, hydraulic oil and universal tractor fluid within the bulk Pure GreenTM product line. The product will be strategically introduced through NAL's growing distribution network in 44 states.

Warren Oil, Launches Lubriguard 15W40 With "Sootslayer Technology"

Warren Oil Company, Inc. announced the launch of LUBRIGUARD 15W40 CJ-4/SM Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil containing "SOOTSLAYER TECHNOLOGY."

LUBRIGUARD 15W40 Heavy Duty Engine Oil with "SOOTSLAYER" Technology is said to have twice the soot handling capability of typical API CI-4 engine oils and is engineered to maximize engine performance and engine life in today's hotter-running engines with specialized emission control technologies and in yesterday's more conventional engines. LUBRIGUARD 15W40 CJ-4/SM heavy duty engine oil exceeds performance criteria of the new API CJ-4 service category as well as previous service categories.

LUBRIGUARD 15W40 CJ-4/SM engine oil was designed to simplify a fleet owner's logistics. According to Warren Oil, with one of the industries highest starting TBN's and strongest TBN retention rates, this one product is formulated to provide outstanding performance in extended drain applications and in mixed fleets at all diesel fuel sulfur levels from ultra low sulfur diesel fuels containing 15 ppm sulfur to off-highway diesel fuels containing up to 500 ppm sulfur.

LUBRIGUARD 15W40 CJ-4/SM with its SOOTSLAYER technology is reportedly formulated to be the only 15W40 engine oil an operator will need having received OEM approvals from Mack EO-O Premium Plus, Volvo VDS-4, DDC Power Guard Oil Specification 93K218, Cummins CES 20081 Renault RLD-3, ACEA E7-04 and is recommended for most other engine service requirements including Mercedes Benz 228.31, Man 3275, DHD-1, JASO DH- 2 and many others.

Irvin Warren, Warren Oil's Chief Executive Officer and President, said, "We at Warren Oil are pleased and excited to announce this wonderful new product." "When we started the development of LUBRIGUARD CJ-4/SM 15W40, we established a performance target that used what we believed were the best performance characteristics of the acknowledged industry leaders, Shell Rotella T Triple Protection, Chevron DELO 400 LE and Mobil Delvac 1300 Super engine oils." "With the introduction of this new LUBRIGUARD CJ-4/SM 15W40, we feel that we have met and in some ways exceeded our performance targets."

New ExxonMobil Brochure Educates Fleet Managers and Owner-Operators about the Benefits of Mobil Delvac Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Oils

To help educate trucking fleet managers and owner- operators about how synthetic lubricants can enhance the performance and reliability of their vehicles, as well as potentially deliver fuel economy benefits, ExxonMobil today introduced a new six-page color brochure for its flagship Mobil Delvac synthetic commercial vehicle lubricants.

The Mobil Delvac lineup of the fully synthetic heavy- duty lubricants includes Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid, Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oil, Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF, and Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 which, in June 2007, became the world's first API CJ-4 licensed all synthetic 5W-40 lubricant.

Available in print or online, the brochure details how using high quality synthetic lubricants, such as Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40, can help fleet managers and owner-operators extend drain intervals, enhance soot handling, and minimize wear, leading to lower maintenance costs and downtime.

In addition, the brochure provides key data, with accompanying graphics and detailed charts, that shows how Mobil Delvac's full range of synthetic oils have performed in the most challenging OEM and industry standard benchmark tests, such as Sequence IIIG Oxidation Test, CEC L60-1 Thermal Oxidation Test, and Cummins ISB Wear Test.

Test results show that Mobil Delvac 1 ESP, Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oils and Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluids, when used in combination, can help trucking fleets and/or owner-operators generate up to three-percent fuel savings, compared to conventional, mineral lubricants.

"As the trucking industry continues to become more competitive, and the technology used in today's vehicles continues to become more advanced, fleet managers and owner-operators are increasingly looking at ways to lower their costs, by maximizing the performance of their vehicles and enhancing fuel economy," said Yeong Kwon, Commercial Vehicle Lubricants' product offer adviser, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company.

"With our full lineup of Mobil Delvac-branded, high performance, synthetic lubricants, we continue to extend our legacy of being at the forefront of lubricant technology, providing the marketplace with a range of products that deliver outstanding oxidation resistance, wear protection and viscosity stability, as well as improved fuel economy."
