Greetings!
February is the month of many FIRSTS:
- New moon: Feb. 2
- First day of the Chinese Year (it's the Year of the Rabbit!): Feb. 3
- First U.S. President elected: Feb. 4, 1789
- First "Don't Walk" sign: Feb. 5, 1952
- First U.S. Beatles tour: Feb. 7, 1964 (who else remembers watching them on television - black and white, of course - when they landed in the USA and stepped off the plane???)
- First Cracker Jack prize: Feb. 19, 1912
- First Love memories: Feb. 14, ??????
In this month of many historical FIRSTS, what are the FIRSTS that stand out in your memory bank? What FIRSTS have you created for someone else? More importantly, what FIRSTS are in your future? What FIRST steps are required to create exceptional outcomes ahead and sweet memories?
I had the pleasure of attending an EAPA Houston meeting last month and the speaker, Willie Larry, offered a quote during his presentation on leadership: "Tragedy only occurs when good men and women walk away." So, be exceptional. Stand up. Stand out. Stand for something. Do the right thing. Do it FIRST.
What's on your list of FIRSTS for your future? Send me an email, and I'll publish the list for everyone, if it's printable!! If you want your name attached to the list, please confirm. Otherwise, your submission will remain anonymous. :) Who knows? Someone else's FIRST might just be the FIRST you've never thought of, forgot, or dared to try. Let's spur each other on to greatness! Come on, send that email!
Happy Valentine's Day!
