Summer $1.00 Sale!
- 2010 Buoncristiani, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley; $34.00: Complex aromas of lemon zest, white peach, ripe ruby grapefruit, orange sherbert, floral muscat, vanilla, and lemon cream pie entice the senses. On the palate, a creamy texture leads the way to layered flavors of mango, green melon, nectarine, key lime pie, honeysuckle and vanilla wafer. Zesty citrus flavors, tropical fruit and ultra bright acidity linger in the crisp and clean finish.
- 2008 Maison Louis Jadot, Pouilly Fuisse', Beaune, Burgundy; $24.00: Ripe, supple and of medium body, this classic expression of Pouilly-Fuisse shows vibrant Chardonnay fruit flavors with notes of melon and minerals, gently touched with oak, ending in a fresh, silky finish.
- 2009 Maison Henry-Fessy, Beaujolais, Moulin-a-Vent, 90 pts.; $24.00: This wine has impressive color and intense aromas of red and black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant. This Week's Village Wine Cellar Features! Chablis & Burgundy
- 2010 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis, Champs Royaux; $21.00: Winemaker Notes - Very refined bouquet, developing citrus, white-fleshed fruit and floral notes. Fresh and supple, the wine is marked by mineral notes that are typical of the appellation.
- 2010 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis, Les Clos, Grand Cru, 97 pts., Tanzer; $104.00: An exceptionally fresh and intensely floral nose also offers up notes of lime, lemon, stone and iodine, all of which can also be found on the massively rich, concentrated and big-bodied flavors that are breathtakingly powerful and intense, all wrapped in a palate drenching and extraordinarily long finish.
- 2009 Simonnet-Febvre, Chablis, Les Clos, Grand Cru; $65.00: The king of the Grands Crus appellation: a rich, luscious wine with great complexity of flavors. The wine, above all other, for keeping.
- 2010 Bouchard Pere & Fils, Chassagne Montrachet, 90 pts., Tanzer; $63.00: Clear medium and lemon green. Intensity on a youthful & developing nose of ripe apples, oaky vanilla & butter. Dry medium and acidity, alcohol, body & flavor intensity. Excellent.
- 2007 Bouchard Pere and Fils, Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 96 pts., Parker; $150.00: "A grand cru wine presented last in a stellar line-up, yet that costs on-half to one-third that of the other grand cru bottlings that preceded it. A striking and intensely pungent aroma of holly berry, fresh ginger, and lime zest leads to a vivacious, silken-textured, chalky, saline, crustacean palate."
- 2010 Bouchard Pere and Fils, Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 96 pts., Parker; $155.00: Very complex bouquet with vanilla, crème flan and a pronounced minerality that is Corton Charlemagne. Tangy lemon jolly rancher candy-like fruit on the tongue; very rich and layered, with an almost oily texture. Very rich. Finishes with tongue-tingly minerality and just a touch of toasty oak spice.
- 2006 Domaine Vincent Girardin, Chevalier Montrachet, Grand Cru, 94 pts., Parker; $350.00: Spicy white flower and pungent lemon peel notes that are also picked up by the pure, intense and balanced flavors.
- 2010 Bouchard Pere and FIls, Le Corton, Grand Cru, 94 pts., Tanzer; $105.00: Dark red. Black fruits, flowers, minerals and licorice on the vibrant nose, plus a whiff of truffle. At once delicate and strong, finishing spicy and long, with a flavor of crunchy berries.
- 2009 Domaine Louis Latour, Corton Clos du Roi, Grand Cru, 95 pts.; $100.00: Classified as Grand Cru since 1937, the appellation of Corton 'Clos du Roi' has existed since the 15th century, when the King of France would stock his personal cellar with these fine wines from Corton. With a perfect due-east exposure on the hill of Corton the vines are farmed in the traditional way by the vignerons of Domaine Louis Latour. Harsh pruning permits later harvests and also insures that a good level of ripeness and richness is acheived in the grapes. This powerful and elegant wine has fantastic ageing capability.

For Your Appreciation: Thank You!
Pay one penny for one bottle of Chateau Bonnet, Bordeaux Blanc or Rouge upon spending over $100.00 on any wine purchase. Normal price is $14.00 per bottle.
The vineyards of Chateau Bonnet were planted during the 16th century, by the Reynier family, wealthy merchants from Libourne. In a mere 30 years, the landscape around the house was transformed, as vines replaced forest on the surrounding slopes. Château Bonnet lies to the North of the Entre-Deux-Mers, on the clay-chalk slopes of the commune of Grézillac, overlooking the Dordogne valley some 10km south of Saint Emilion. The estate dates back to the 17th century; when André Lurton took over in 1956, it comprised 30 hectares of vineyard, which he immediately undertook to renovate and develop.

Normal retail price is $14.00 per bottle, but you only pay 1 penny upon spending $100 on any wine purchase.
Limit one wine purchase per family per day.
Thank you for your business!

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
