Winter $1.00 Sale!
Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle, Same Brand for $1.00 - 2006 Bouchard Pere & Fils, Greves Vigne del'Enfant Jesus, Premier Cru, 90-92 pts., Tanzer, 92 pts., Wine Enthusiast, 91 pts., Parker, 90 pts., Wine Spectator. Release Price: $150 per bottle. Our price is $99.00 and get the 2nd bottle for $1.00:

Wine Spectator; 90 pts.: "Shows nice bright cherry and strawberry flavors, with good flesh and firm tannins. There's finesse and balance, as the finish ends on a sweet fruit note. Best from 2011-2020. 400 cases imported" eRobertParker.com; 91 pts.: "With the 2006 Beaune Greves L'Enfant Jesus - which, as usual Bouchard presents at the close of a tasting, after their grand crus - they certainly make a case for the superiority of these vines, if not for the enormous price differential vis-a-vis the other Beaune premier crus at this address. Seven parcels were tapped for this, and around 20% of the juice or young wine was declassified into the Beaune du Chateau. Imagine roasted, still bloody lamb seasoned with pungent herbs and accompanied by a tart compote of black fruits and you have the overall impression of this deeply rich cru with its persistent layering of flavors. I would expect it to reward 6-8 years of attention." Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar; 92 pts.: "Bright medium red. Musky spices, strawberry, cherry and tobacco on the nose. Silky-sweet and dense, with excellent breadth and volume to the suave red fruit flavors. Offers a rather refined texture and finishes with very smooth tannins. Very classy Beaune wine."
All sales final. No returns or exchanges Offer good March 5th - March 11th Offer good while supplies last. Prices are subject to change without notice |
This Week's Village Wine Cellar Features!
Pinot Noir
- 2009 Malm Cellars, Sonoma County; $22.00: Garnet in color with aromas of toasted wafers, bing cherry lollipops, and charred oak barrels. Medium full body with balanced acidity. Big on flavor and very round on the tongue with a touch of berry spice and a medium finish. The aromatics are wanting, but this is not a wine made to contemplate, but to suck down with a good hamburger.
- 2009 Foley Estates, Rancho Santa Rosa, Sta. Rita Hills, 90 pts.; $40.00: A rich, fleshy wine held together with a solid backbone of silky tannins and firm natural acidity. It pairs beautifully with duck, turkey, grilled chicken and tuna or salmon.
- 2008 Fess Parker, Clone 115, Sta. Rita Hills, 91 pts.; $49.00: Dark cherry red color; focused cherry, raspberry, black raspberry nose; rich, flamboyant, raspberry, ripe cherry compote, raspberry syrup palate; medium-plus finish (from west and southwest facing blocks at Ashley's Vineyard.
- 2009 Sequana, Sundawg Ridge Vineyard, Russian River Valley, 95 pts.; $51.75: A lively bouquet of rose and sandalwood accompany complex dark red fruit of plum, black cherry and blackberry. Layered and full-bodied with balanced tannins, the wine finishes with length and finesse.
- 2009 Failla, Occidental Ridge, Sonoma Coast, 92 pts., Wine Spectator; $66.00: Shows aromas of lavender, violet, plum and dried berry before retreating into a trim, compact and elegant wine, with subtle min≠eral, chalk and damp wood flavors. Full-bodied, this is the kind of wine that needs time and should reward cellaring.
- 2009 ROCO, Willamette Valley, 91 pts. Parker; Was $40.00, Now $30.00: "A graceful style, bright and lively, with a gentle core of red berry, tea and spice flavors, lingering easily against firm tannins".
- 2009 Penner-Ash, Willamette Valley, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $45.00: "Sleek and silky, with cherry and wet earth flavors, finishing on a savory note. This has firm tannins that stay behind the fruit as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2017."
- 2009 Penner-Ash, Shea Vineyard, Willamette Valley, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; $68.00: Ripe, round and complex, delivering black cherry, currant and plum flavors layered with flashes of wet granite, slate and white pepper, which add extra sparkle on the intense, but not dense, structure.
- 2009 Penner-Ash, Pas de Nom, Willamette Valley, 94 pts., Wine Spectator; $110.00: Black cherry and currant combined with floral notes of fresh rose and violet on the nose. Refined and silky tannins build for a textured, supple and sweet palate of red raspberry, black berry and baking spice. Finishes with expressive sweet wood vanilla notes and resonating spice..

For Your Appreciation: Thank You!
Pay one penny for one bottle of Chateau Bonnet, Bordeaux Blanc or Rouge upon spending over $100.00 on any wine purchase. Normal price is $14.00 per bottle.
The vineyards of Chateau Bonnet were planted during the 16th century, by the Reynier family, wealthy merchants from Libourne. In a mere 30 years, the landscape around the house was transformed, as vines replaced forest on the surrounding slopes. Château Bonnet lies to the North of the Entre-Deux-Mers, on the clay-chalk slopes of the commune of Grézillac, overlooking the Dordogne valley some 10km south of Saint Emilion. The estate dates back to the 17th century; when André Lurton took over in 1956, it comprised 30 hectares of vineyard, which he immediately undertook to renovate and develop.

Normal retail price is $14.00 per bottle, but you only pay 1 penny upon spending $100 on any wine purchase.
Limit one wine purchase per family per day.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
