Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00
  • 2007 Gundlach-Bundschu, Merlot, Estate, Sonoma Valley; $29.00: Aromas of Bing cherry and violets are followed by a soft, rich palate of concentrated black plum and berry flavors. Champagne! Champagne! Champagne!

  • 2003 Schramsberg, Reserve, 91 pts. Connoisseur's Guide; $100.00: "....Those who take delight in a broadly toasty, nervy style are going to find things to like here much in the same way that some of the most characterful Champagnes challenge the notion of austerity as a demanded virtue...."
  • 2004 Schramsberg, J Schram, 97 pts. Connoisseur's Guide; $100.00: 85% Chardonnay; 15% Pinot Noir. World-class bubbly in every dimension, this deep, rich, complex, layered, lively, developed yet youthful wine has achieved what only a handful have ever been able to accomplish. From the very first sniff of its creamy, yeasty, lightly toasty, brioche, pie crust, Meyer lemon, crisp apple notes to its insistently foamy, pinpointy mousse to the artful blending of rich and austere elements all the way to its long, refined, tangy, complex and flavorful finish, this brilliant bottling is about as good as good gets.
  • 2004 Schramsberg, Rose' J Schram, 98 pts. Wine Enthusiast; $140.00:  "An awesome rosé, just a tremendous feat. Made from 11 vineyards in 4 counties, it shows a masterful art of the blend. Insanely rich in toasted bread and lees, showing the influence of six years in the bottle. A tremendous core of strawberries, raspberries, orange zest, roasted macadamia, roasted coconut, pear liqueur and honey lasts into the finish. Despite the richness, the wine is dry. So lovely now you can hardly keep your hands off, but it should age gracefully for the next 10-15 years."
  • NV Gosset, Brut, Excellence, 92 pts. Wine Spectator; Was $45.00, Now $39.00: Aromas of pear and honeysuckle perfume the bouquet. This is a beautifully balanced champagne with a long, expressive finish.Gosset only uses juice from the first and best pressing of grapes, and unlike most other producers, initial fermentation is still carried out in small oak barrels.
  • NV Charles Heidsieck, Brut Reserve, With 2 Flutes, 93 pts. Wine Spectator; $55.00: "Like a Persian carpet this lovely, elegant Champagne seamlessly weaves together its elements, with fine-grained texture and vibrant acidity joining rich flavors of toast, patisserie fruit and candied lemon zest that show subtle spice notes of cardamom and ginger. Drink now through 2020. 2,000 cases imported."
  • NV Billecart-Salmon, Brut, Reserve, 92 pts. Wine Spectator; $54.00: A broad style, laced with honey and peach notes. Turns quickly to roasted nuts on the finish, in a lightly oxidative way. Drink now.
  • NV Billecart-Salmon, Brut, Rose, 92 pts. Wine Spectator; $95.00:   Year after year one of the best NV rose there is. Wonderful soaring aromas of strawberries and biscuits. On the palate, creamy texture delivering plenty of red fruit, and a lingering finish to boot. Thoroughly enjoyable Champagne.
  • 2004 Taittinger, Brut, Millesime' 93 pts. Wine Spectator; $80.00: A toasty Champagne, with an exotic hint of cumin spicing the wine and supporting flavors of clementine, ginger bread and graphite. There's intensity and racy acidity, all put together in a well-meshed, elegant package.
  • 2000 Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de Blancs, Brut, 94 pts Tanzer; $160.00: A huge wine bursting with ripe varietal fruit, smoke, ash, crushed rocks and slate. This is an unusual Comtes that deftly balances richness and power while maintaining considerable minerality. The 2000 will be hard to resist in its youth, but should also age beautifully for a number of years. It is a stunning, flat-out great bottle.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees

From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr.  is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:

"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."

Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep  we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar.

This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled.  Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised.  As you are aware,  all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm.  This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar.
